Do we go CB with the fist pick? Obviously they are the team to beat in our division

So CB is the only position to stop an explosion, huh

Last year the Panthers were the team to stop. An offseason can make a world of difference. Positively, or negatively.

Need a pass rush or any DB we draft/sign will be useless.

At this point, with maybe the exception of DT, whoever is highest rated D player is who you get. Hell I wouldn't even be mad at us grabbing another DT with a high pick if he is highest on board.

I think we can get a quality DB in the 2nd or 3rd. Tre White? yes please.

Surprisingly, all I hear about this year is how awesome the de/edge rushers are. Who is even the highest touted/rated DT?

You could argue this since we were shopping at WalMart for corners at week 4, but there are so many holes on defense. So, I think they take best available. However, a pass rush is so very important so if there's a bookend to match Cam on otherside, I think they take it.

A year ago the Panthers were 15-1 and the Falcons watched the playoffs from home. I realize they are in the Super Bowl but lets not overreact. This is the NFL after all.

Once Kyle Shanahan bolts for the 49'ers, they will go back to being who they once were.

His offensive philosophy really is the real deal and fits Matt Ryan well.

frick no... pressure Ryan and he gets really skittish... we need pass rush, and not just for Ryan... we haven't had a consistent and reliable pass rush since god damn Leroi Glover...

No. We need DE than can create pass rush w/o blitzing and LBs that can run with their RBs and slot receivers more than anything.

We need to focus on building a championship caliber defense, not just look at how to stop one team.
