Shouldn't Saints fans root for ATL like LSU fans for the SEC?

Answer is clearly no but a little weird how NFL teams don't really root for the strength of their division like college schools do, i guess its a bit different feel to it.

Because the nfl playoff system exists. I doesn't depend on perception just win loss. In the nfl you want your division to suck so you get an easy playoff spot.
In college you need your division to be good so you will be ranked highly

Playoffs (game driven) vs BCS (prestige driven)

And a lot of college teams don't cheer for their rivals. I'm sure Auburn fans will be all Notre Dame today. Same as when Texas played for the National Championship and aTm fans were cheering for USC. Same for tOSU & Michigan.

In the NFL if you win your games you get in, unlike in college where it's all about strength of schedule and conference.

But the NFL does sometimes discuss the appearance of strength of divisions and sometimes its nice to hang your hang out the strength of one's division.

Remember when the Tampa Bay Bucs beat the hell out of the Raiders several years ago in the Super Bowl?

it was strange watching a team win it all when we had beat them twice that year.

I was rooting for them at first but by the time the game was over with, I had changed my tune.

Bc being In a "NFC stronger" doesn't help you whatsoever for postseason seeding.

And for the record, I hope Bama gets blown the frick out

The SEC winning the last 6 out of 7 NCs sounds just as good to me.

Go Irish!

And frick Atlanta!

Not the same at all.

The pro level doesn't have the same local connection as college. I'm saying overall.

At the college level and even below it is just natural to root for your closest brethren. Just like high school.. My team doesn't win and I'm in the south I still want the southern team to take the ship. Or if it's Louisiana vs Texas.. Give me Louisiana.. It's just a prideful mentality based mainly upon region.. and it's a mutual respect factor.

however in the Pros these guys are assembled from all over.. and there is absolutely no reason to respect anything about the failcons.

the only way I root for Atlanta, is if they are in a car on fire headed for a propane tank.

I don't care how many points they lose by, as long as they fricking lose.

I've heard enough from the insufferable Bama fans over here where I live.
