Doug Farrar of SI nailed the pick. Others had him in the Top 10

Wonderful

I feel we needed immediate impact players with these first 2, doesn't seem like we did that.

Per @PFF, Peat allowed two sacks and seven hurries over 423 snaps last year. That's solid.

Bree's had literally zero time to throw last year. On that basis I don't have any beef with this pick.

Peat will not be giving Brees any extra time to throw this year because he won't start.

That's a fact jack.

Why would he not start? I'll admit I was secretly wanting him or Cooper. His only negative is strength and I'd imagine with NFL weight training he can build that up pretty quick. Dude is a good player.

He's not going to build his strength in 4 months.

Strief will start. So will Armstead.

He was picked to play now. I don't see us picking at 13 for a future starter.

Am I thrilled about it? Not really.

BUT Peat was a top 10 pick in pretty much every mock out there, so...

The pick had to happen at some point.. Strief started to get a bit hurt last year maybe bumping him to guard is not a bad thing. You don't draft an OT that early and don't start him. 1st round O-lineman play

He's a much better player than Brown, although I see what you mean.

I had USC guys giving me shite that we even drafted Brown - they knew that he sucked. Not getting that vibe at all with Peat. We'll see.
