A nice write up on a first round pick the Saints actually got right. Keep drafting D-lineman Coach!

I'm interested in seeing Onyemata's progression going forward. I'm pretty happy with our interior dline, but we could always use more depth.

I'm fine with the interior depth (if we resign Fairley). Fairley, Rankins, Davison, Onyemata, and even Jordan and Tapp (if we resign him) can kick inside.

I'm more worried about outside depth, though that isn't bad either with Jordan, Tapp (if resigned), Kikaha, Edebali, Onyemata, amd Kruger.

If Kikaha stays healthy amd becomes a legit speed rusher we'll be okay. If neither happens we'll be in much the same spot with needing a dominant speed rusher again. frick JG.

Agreed. If he doesn't go nuts, we may have made the playoffs the past 2 seasons.

I like Kikaha for his speed and Onyemata for his pure strength both showing a lot of raw talent. I hope both can just keep improving. I saw little from Kruger in putting pressure on the QB and he looked OK vs the run. Does anyone have PFF stats on him?
Tapp and Edebali seem like they have shown all that your going to get with them.

I'm worried Kikaha's ligament's are going to continue to be a chronic problem

Kinda looks like my high school report card... Strong in the beginning, but goes downhill fast

I think he is just lagniappe at this point. I would build the team with no expectation of his contribution going forward.

Rankins looked as if he could've put up 7-10 sacks had he had a full season. I would've loved to see him in 7 more games this season, the more snaps he had the more he adjusted to the NFL. Oynemata was the biggest surprise though, I never expected him to see the field. He seemed like the traditional mid to late round pick in the Payton era that had great upside, but was labeled practice squad before lacing up.

I think Onyemata showed alot of promise this past year. It may not be next year but I believe by year 3 he will be a force. He just need to get some coach and game experience.
