Sometimes its more than the coordinator. You have to have the horses and we dont have them yet. We took big steps towards that in last year's draft and hopefully we continue that trend with going defense first in the next few drafts.

The whole D-line, to me, is a very underrated group. I think one more edge rusher and one more interior man could make this a terrific group

So replace half the D-line and we'll be great. Someone should make you a GM.

A lot of people overlook the actual defensive roster and just think a coach can do it all.

EASILY the one of the biggest misconceptions on this site.

I think Samoa boy could be an elite pass rusher if they work a little bit more on his technique. I went to the thursday night game against ATL this year and every play I'd watch him dominate Jake Matthews and disrupt the whole Falcons offense. Consistency is key for him

Don't lie, you only called him Samoa boy because you were too afraid to try to spell kikaha

The d-line outside of Jordan is a bunch of career back ups and rotational players.

The good news is they got more playing time this past year than they would have otherwise. That'll be valuable going forward, but in a draft where d-line is deep, we need to add as much starter talent as possible.

I'm ok with Allen as long as he doesn't run zones against Atlanta, leaving a special team LB to cover Julio Jones.

Very much, and his first name too. I'll just start calling him Roman Reigns' cousin

Although he isn't Samoan, it will be interesting to see his role next year in the 4-3. His snaps decreased once Allen took over, although Allen cited HK's injury as the reason. IIRC, HK was also rushing the passer less, and playing more as SLB.

Will reevaluate after mid-point of next season...

There are plenty of defenses out there with talent no better than the saints that don't finish in the bottom 5 almost every year. Coaching is a big part of our problem.
