I'm not sure if you guys have noticed this, but there is a trend of former NFL head coaches who won a Super Bowl title and became an analyst/commentator when their coaching career was done. Examples include: Tony Dungy, Brian Billick, Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, and Mike Ditka. All of these coaches won 1 Super Bowl title during their coaching days.

So, if Sean Payton leaves the Saints after the season, do y'all see him joining the Super Bowl winning coaches who became commentators/analysts? Does he retire from coaching since he reached the pinnacle? All of the previously mentioned coaches could still coach in the NFL, but are obviously comfortable in their broadcasting jobs.

The difference between the aforementioned and Sean is that the aforementioned are likeable.

Jon Gruden and likeable should never be in the same sentence.

Styxion, you can't tell me that you wouldn't be excited if the Saints hired Jon Gruden to be the next head coach.

He wouldn't be able to comment on anything until "looks at the film."

Nope, I can't stand him. Though, it might make MNF watchable again. For now, I'll just continue watching it on mute.
