why is this only a white trash contest?

Because since we are stereotyping white people, it's the only thing I can think of without getting banned for racism.

Did you watch the defense last season? You can take your pick with the solid majority of the secondary and 2/3 of the linebackers. Chances are some of them will be around next year.

I didn't say he was the only one I sent my degrading over toned gestured phrases at...I sent plenty. I like Scott Shanle...he was a good locker room guy and contributed to the Saints being successful in the current Brees era.

It's not personal, Scott. We just need to clean house, OK?

Glad you understand.

Only way I see him staying is as a 2nd/3rd string ILB. But that is becoming a stretch since his veteran minimum pay is much higher than an UDFA or someone from the practice squad.

I admit, his experience and leadership is an asset. But we have too many of those types on defense already, we just need raw talent.

I personally appreciate what he has done for us. sure he wasn't the greatest ever, but he was ok - and he helped contribute to our SB run - and for that I will always appreciate what he did for us.

Close to 500 tackles as a Saint, a nobody coming in here, Championship Linebacker, MVP of defense one year, Dude came here, worked hard and has been great for us.

Solid, classy post.

I don't get the Shanle hate on here. He's got limitations, but the dude has busted his arse every time I've watched him. That's more than I can say for some of the guys out there *cough*Ellis*cough*

The Shan will make a good coach one day and to this fan will always be remembered as one of the starters and contributors on that immortal 2009 Saints World Champion squad. Whodat!

good off season thread... not the worst but the Alltime Glad To See Them Go Saints team. Shanmaster has been holding to fort for a while now since he wrestled the title away from Jason David.

Lol Snow Patrol... In all seriousness though, Shanle did a decent job on Dallas Clark in the SB!

He went from underrated to overrated to appropriately rated. As frustrating as he often was, he will always be associated with the best Saints team of anyone's lifetime, as well as one of the most exciting (for better or worst) defenses I ever got to watch. I have nothing negative to say about you, Shanle.

The Snow patrol.

But you know, Simoneu was the biggest hole at MLB I've ever seen. Nothing against him but he was just not good.
