Nice, thanks for sharing. Do we have to buy tickets in advance, or can we buy them there?

Any suggestions for Friday night (Halloween) for 6 guys in their mid 20's? We're staying at the Marriott Charlotte City Center. One of my friends said something about a zombie pub crawl that night, but I was wondering if you had any suggestions.

The pub crawls are usually fun and get a good turnout.

There are a ton of good bars uptown though...my favorites:

Dandelion Market
Ri Ras
Connelly's
Blackfinns
Roxbury

You should be able to walk everywhere from your hotel

Im in along with 4 buddies. Have had a good time with this group tailgating the last few years. Who Dat!

As far as places to go- hit up the North Davidson (NODA)area. Good restaraunts and plenty of breweries along the way.

Great to hear it!

PayPal link is now closed but there are still 50 tix available on a first come first serve basis beginning at 4pm. But even without a ticket you can party in the street with everyone obviously

How awesome is Charlotte?
Lived there all of your life... or moved there for work?

Compare and contrast vs Louisiana/BR.

Would probably start in NODA (hippyish area but with lots of breweries) late afternoon and hit up some breweries. From there, either eat in Southpark or Uptown (best two neighborhoods for decent restaurants, charlotte's downtown area is called uptown for some reason). After dinner, go to either Montford Dr. (Fratty post college area) or uptown (the epicenter, in walking distance has some decent bars), maybe Southend. If you're into live music, pick up a copy of Creative Loafing magazine (free weekly, Charlottes answer to gambit/offbeat) and see who is playing Friday night. If the weather is nice during the day Friday, the whitewater center has good beers, and the beer garden (VGBG) at the carolinas music factory has good beer as well.

I would agree with this^. Depending how long you are here, I would take a trip out to the US national whitewater center as well. About a 10-15 minute trip from downtown.
Came to college here back in the day and never left. Absolutely love this area. 2 hours to the mountains and 3 from the beach. Can't go wrong with that. Charlotte is actually a pretty nice city and has come a looooong way since I came here in 93.

For tickets, are scalpers usually below face value? Thinking of picking some up on craigslist or NFL ticket exchange, but was wonder how the scalper market is outside of the stadium.

Spent the first 22 years of my life in BR and then this last year in Charlotte. Love it here. Of course I miss LSU/Cajun cooking but Charlotte trumps BR in every other aspect.
