Saints success with small school players

I'm sure that in the past few years, many of you have noticed the pattern the Saints have, with drafting small school players and developing them into solid NFL players. Going back to Marques Colston, originally a 7th-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft from Hofstra University, who has consistently been a productive receiver and Drew's favorite target.
Jahri Evans- 4th round pick in the 2006 draft from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, a player not many people knew about going into the draft, but has turned into an All-Pro guard who is crucial to the success of the offensive line.
Jermon Bushrod- 4th round pick in the 2007 draft from Towson University. Although he is no longer with the Saints, Bushrod became a Pro Bowl-caliber player with the Saints and earned a huge contract with the Chicago Bears due to his success.
Aside from draft picks, the Saints have had a lot of success with undrafted free agents, the most notable being Pierre Thomas, who has been one of the Saints' leading running backs for the past few years. Two promising players who were undrafted free agents are Travaris Cadet and Joseph Morgan, who have shown promise when they've seen the field.
So I have to give tons of credit to Mickey Loomis, Sean Payton, the Saints' scouting department, and all of their staff in general, for showing a tremendous knack for finding small-school talent and developing players with great potential.
And lastly, even though he didn't come from a small school, Jimmy Graham was a development prospect going into the 2010 Draft, the Saints took a chance on him, and the rest is history :-)

Bushrod was a c level player for an f level contract. now he is still the same c level player but his QB is a statue and he has a B+ player contract. When the bears signed him i sent my friend from Chicago a text telling I Hope Jay Cutler Enjoys Concussions.

Colston and Evans.
GOAT of small school players.
Colston was an epic steal. Who knew a 7th rounder would be this great.

Ivory from Washington State? Corey White from Samford?
And don't forget David Jones (CB from Wingate)
As long as they player isn't from Wake Forest, I'm ok.

It is easy to point at success stories but I would be willing to bet Saints are probably a little above the league avg for finding small school picks.
2006- really where Saints shined with Colston and Evans as small scho success stories
2007- David Jones CB Wingate
2007- Usma Young CB Kent State
2007- Andy Alleman OL Kent State
Bushrod has been a success story
2008- every draft pick came from BCS school
2009- Saints drafted Morestead but he is a punter
2010- every pick came from BCS school

Ivory finished his college career at Tiffin (DII)

Lol you guys mentioned some other players who I didn't mention who definitely fit the bill for small school gems, Chris Ivory definitely being one of these as he came from Tiffin University.
The Saints have drafted other guys from small schools who have made impacts, but the ones I mentioned are the first that come to my mind. Time will tell if Terron Armstead and Rufus Johnson can join this group of successful small school draftees :)
And Ryan Griffin as well, although Tulane isn't really a "small school" like an Arkansas Pine Bluff or Tarleton State lol
