Last season, Jairus Byrd, Kenny Vaccaro, and Rafael Bush combined for 8 missed tackles.
...Malcolm Jenkins had 16 missed tackles.
Vaccaro and Byrd ranked #2 and #19, respectively, in tackle efficiency last season...Byrd ranked #1 in 2012 (among safeties).
...Keenan Lewis ranked #1 in tackle efficiency last season (among cornerbacks).
Byrd, Vaccaro, and Lewis could all be under contract for the next three or four seasons making an average salary of ~16M.
...and we already know they can cover -- Byrd and Bush ranked #3 and #7, respectively, in yards per coverage snap....Bush ranked first in coverage snaps per reception.
...data from PFF.

Now we just need to get a faster/rangy linebacker and clear #2CB.
This defense might end up being the best in franchise history.

These numbers are reminiscent of the 90's Steelers with Rod Woodson (who was better overall CB than "I refuse to tackle" Deondra). This is the makings of a great defense. When your secondary tackles like MLB's, then the rest of your defense can play more aggressive

yep...and the Seahawks and previous Steelers great Ds are largely based on great safety play...it's a recipe for success.
...I think a Washington fan in another thread posted a reddit link yesterday showing that all but 1 or 2 Super Bowl winners in the past 15 years had and All-Pro Safety on the team.
