My buddy in house says to expect the Saints to go hard after CB's in the draft and FA. Apparently Ryan and Payton both believe with Ryan's style of blitz heavy defense the quality of the current secondary won't cut it. I took that as maybe a Safety brought in and moving Jenkins back to corner.

I've said a few times that it wouldn't surprise me if that first rounder is spent on a corner. Would love the guy from Alabama if he were to fall to us.

He's close to being lock down. It seems every time he gives up the big play he's draped over the guy but just doesn't have his head turned around to see the ball coming. I don't get the hate for him.

Being able to locate the ball in the air is a trait that separates a good corner from Patrick Robinson. I don't think he's going to develop that. Its knack he doesn't have.

He's always there, but doesn't have a clue where the ball is.

I don't know why this is so hard for him. He really is in position most of the time which is why it's so frustrating

how hard can it be to look back once in a while when you obviously know how to track the runner and "understand" his route. he needs to study more then

Add it up.
How many top flight corners are there on a planet of 7 billion people who would make millions of dollars on a very poor world just turning their heads?

The New Orleans Saints just freed up $2.219 million in salary-cap space.

The Saints reportedly have parted ways with tight end David Thomas and cornerback Johnny Patrick. Releasing Thomas instantly frees up $1.7 million in cap space. The waiver of Patrick clears another $468,655.

Kind of worries me that we have yet another mid-round defensive draft pick already gone. Patrick is rightfully gone, no doubt, but our scouting department has not done a great job with defensive players. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, so I apologize.

I'd rather see us pick up a few guys in free agency. I know it could be tough with the cap space but you have to think more cuts/restructured deals are coming to make room.

as for the draft... I'd hope we would build on the front seven. Maybe get a guy like Shariff Floyd or score one of the many OLB's that are in this class.
