Call me crazy but I think he could be our biggest acquisition this off season. HE HAD 800 YARDS with Kap/Blaine Gabbetg throwing him the ball.

He could thrive as our #3

Do you realize that DERP spelled backwards is PERD.

Yep.....both worthless and meaningless words.

Thank you for your contribution.

If the Saints were looking for an old has been WR to mentor a bunch of young bucks, why not go with the guy who has been on the team and in the system since 2006? Seems like cutting Colston and signing Boldin makes no sense to me. I get the cutting Colston part, but why Boldin? I think everyone on here thinks we are getting the Boldin of the past. The contract better be super friendly and I still may think it is dumb. Bring Colston back if you want a mentor of the Saints system. Not some old dude that is learning it with the young guns.

Ideally as a 4th Boldin would be a steal. Frick Coleman. He is at best ehh as a 4th. God forbid a top 3 injury occurs. Boldin can rock a top 3 spot if called upon to do so. Coleman was gifted his current spot and still can't run with it.

They probably think Bolden can still play and Colston can't.

had 69 receptions finishing just shy of 800 yards last year at age 35. Only had 4 TD's but the 49ers offense was terrible anyway so its like anybody's TD total was going to be very high.

was targeted 111 times, the next closest was Torrey Smith who was targeted 62 times.

Raise your hand if you specifically remember seeing Boldin get behind the defense last year and thought "damn, he's still got some in the tank"

(Raises hand)

He's never been a burner but he's always had a "wiggle" that allows him to get behind defenses. We still saw it last year. Probably why he was targeted 111 times.

Add to it his run blocking gets him on the field immediately. It's a no brainier (on a cheap deal) Colston lost some physicality, Boldin has not. (Yet)

Kind of Ironic considering that if he signs with the Saints and ends his career in new Orleans this is where he was projected to start his career when he came into the league.

The year he was drafted by Arizona it was with one of the two first round draft picks we traded to Arizona for the right to move up in the first round and Draft Jonathon Sullivan out of Georgia..

Most Mock drafts that year had the Saints drafting Bolden with the 17th in the first round and Jeremy Whitten with the 18th in the first round of that draft.

When the Saints made the trade with Arizona it was immediately though they traded to draft Marcus Trufont but Hasslett and the front office took Sullivan instead.

Colston can't catch a football anymore, and he wasn't willing to restructure his contract again

I posted the link of peeps wanting him back in February. Perfect fit to me. He is exactly what I hope Thomas will turn into. The perfect mentor.

And yes, he still has some gas unlike Colston IMO. And to those who think a young guy would be better... just peruse this list of current WRs on the roster and tell me that again ...

Jared Dangerfield
Jake Lampman
Tommylee Lewis

Thomas should be a little faster than boldin though, right?

I love the way AB plays, I think he'd do fine in New Orleans

Speed is only part of the equation though. At OSU Thomas wasnt required to run "crisp" routes. He was a superior athlete. He will take some time to adjust and AB may be the perfect mentor. And he certainly isn't gonna solidify the edge like AB.

This could be the best Saints offense ever. Fleener, Cooks, AB, Snead, Ingram, Thomas.

LETS NOT EVEN ASSUME SPILLER EVER GETS HEALTHY

From Kat Terrel

Source says there isn't a push by the Saints to sign Anquan Boldin. They did look into it earlier in the summer but didn't make an offer.
