Have a memo on my desk by Tuesday morning regarding the likelihood of this. TIA

Not happening. That would open up a can of worms the likes of which have never been seen in sports history. Looks like another case of CYA.

Yeah, assault charges could be brought against hockey players almost every game.

Yeah. Not likely at all. They always say this kind of stuff, like in hockey when a guy gets hurt in a fight and they say he could get charged.

Doesn't there have to be a "victim" for a crime?

Ludicrous. If there are criminal charges pressed, football is over.

Is the NFLPA still waiting for the Commish to give them evidence? I can't imagine anyone, especially the league office, wants to open the can of worms that would come from players accusing other players of crimes. If the league is still being uncooperative then maybe this is just the union trying to put some pressure on the league.

I wish it would happen, just to see how Goodell handles that debacle. If getting paid to hit people is illegal, (the source of the money is irrelavent) wouldn't that make the entire league guilty?

Of course this is rediculas, and I don't really wish it to happen, but ol' Rog needs to start thinking about the consequences of what he wishes for.

Not gonna happen. This is the NFLPA putting it to Rog Goodolph as a reminder about "due process" and the fact he has none.

Saints are a scape goat. The league is setting their defense for the concussion class action. It's obvious now that the league is going to blame renegade coaches/ players as the problem. NFL defense will be, "It's criminal activity that causes injuries".
