quote:

#Saints S Kenny Vaccaro on Adrian Peterson: He's "ridiculous." Hasn't lost a step. Thinks he can play til he's 40

quote:

Saints LT Terron Armstead: I've honestly never seen anybody like Adrian Peterson. ... He's got so much left.

quote:

A LOT of Adrian Peterson hype at #Saints camp. Words like "amazed" "stud" "ridiculous." But most of all "psssshhhh." https://es.pn/2rvRwpM 6:05 PM - 1 Jun 2017

Hearing this stuff is better than the alternative, but it really doesn't mean anything at this time of year. We'll see what it looks like when the games start.

I'm still tempering expectations. If he's a decent contributor then awesome that's what we're paying him for. If he's really worthy of the hype I'm seeing coming out of camp then that's fantastic.

I feel for Mark Ingram, he's such an afterthought now. Afer a breakout season, after he had a 1k yard season, averaged 5.1 YPC, and added 300 yards in the passing game and nobody is going to even talk about you lol

I liked this one from Jazzy myself:

This is my 20th year covering the NFL. I’ve never heard players hype someone the way the Saints talked about Adrian Peterson on Thursday.

I disagree. When the head coach says it, you can't put much stock in it. That's what they do. But when the players are going out of their way to bring it up, that's pretty telling.

I don't think it means we're getting AP from 2010 but it does mean we're getting an upgrade at RB. I trust NFL players' evaluations of each other.

Exactly. There's a difference when a player is asked about a new vet joining the team and you get the standard, "Yeah, he looks good out there. We're all working towards the same goal, blah, blah." When multiple players are going out of there way to hype AP in a way that reporters haven't heard in 20 years, I believe there's something to it.

This is encouraging. I'm really interested in what happens after the pads are on. Nothing like a good heated competition to stir things up.

Ingram is going to end up extending his career..and I agree that the players saying this means more than the coaches

He's a legend that many of these players grew up idolizing. They would be enamored with him no matter what. Practice that would actually show off what made him great hasn't even started yet. These are all throwaway quotes, but it is still better than people being silent or hating him.

I do think that he could be great for us this year, but close to all news this time of year is meaningless. We're in the dead period.

Don't worry he'll throw a hissy fit soon to get back into the spotlight.
