Garoppolo is a FA in 2018. Brees is under contract in 2017 and has a no trade clause.

So we're going to give up picks to get Garoppolo to sit on the bench for a year, only to become a FA? I guess it makes more sense than, you know, simply pursuing him when he's a FA.

Except that he'll be traded to someone else if not the saints. So you cant really use that line of thinking. Way to sound like a moron and arse at the same time. That's hard to do.

Why would the Pats trade him? He looked pretty good while Brady was out.

I would be surprised if the Pats traded him for anything less than 2 first round picks.

God help us. A time after Drew.

I think he will want a starting job maybe too quickly. Drew's current contract ends after 2017, but I would have to think that he has at least a little more left in him than that. As of yet there hasn't been much drop down from him at all, but I guess these things can happen all of a sudden.

It's a real shame that the rest of the team is starting to show some seriously positive signs right as Drew's career is coming to an end. I honestly think if Drew can give us two more years of play at this level, he will get another ring. Our defense is turning into a legitimate defense, and we've always said that's all we need for another run. We forgot about the 3rd phase that competent teams get to take for granted. Time to make special teams special again

When I saw Drew throw that lame duck pass that got intercepted against Carolina, I was hoping that that was not the beginning of a decline for him. That's how Peyton Manning's passes started looking towards the end. Aging quarterbacks start floating the ball and laying it short.

You're basing this off one pass that he probably just lost his grip on?

Brady could fall off anytime. They won't get rid of a cheaper version now.

They keep jimmy and draft another QB this year to continue moving their safety net forward if/when Jimmy moves as a FA
