I would say B- at this point. At first I was pissed about Peat @ 13 because Dupree was still on the board. I still would have rather Dupree but now that time has passed I'm much higher on him and we addressed a direct need. I love the Anthony pick @31. It helped console me on not getting Dupre. This pick is the reason I have them at a B instead of a C. If we had gone anywhere besides LB or DL I would have been livid. Opinions?

Like the Anthony pick. Saves it from F.

D- Could have traded back and easily gotten both our picks we have now plus another second or third rounder.

It's not like the team needs a trading partner or anything. It's takes two teams to make a trade. Another team isn't just going to trade up just to do so. There would have had to be another player that some team wanted to trade up for which obviously wasn't the case tonight.

That's why I don't like the reaching for a player argument. It's impossible to know what teams behind you will do or if they will unexpectingly trade. If you have met with a guy and value him high enough you make the pick.

I'll have to see the rest of the class to decide. We didn't go for the sexy picks, which I like, but we got 2 solid players and still have a lot of picks left. Tomorrow after we get an edge rusher and WR I think we'll have a better picture of how good our draft class is.

Peat will pay off in the long run and I love the Anthony pick, I mean when was the last time we had an athletic ILB?

I'd say B+, it seems like they got exactly what they wanted

B. There are still some high value players on the board for the Saints too. I love the Peat pick and it's about time they upgrade LB.

A++++

I can't remember the last time we actually addressed our biggest needs with high picks.

The argument, but this high profile guy was there who we could've drafted, makes no sense. We desperately needed an olineman. And we desperately needed a linebacker. With our top 2 picks we addressed both needs. I don't understand how you can argue against that unless you don't grasp the point of the draft.

I was expecting Payton to pick a WR like an idiot in the first round.

We went with a young oline stud and an ilb. Both guys with good heads on their shoulders and tons of potential.

If our next two picks are defense and oline again I'm gonna cream my jeans like a mofo.

But I'm guessing Payton gonna grab a WR. Which is expected and after the first round I'll allow it.

You think we desperately needed to upgrade one of the tackle spots?

I think we desperately needed an online. It was our number one position of need. Strief has been the solid anchor of this oline and he's on the wrong side of 30 and has some wear and tear.

We hugely upgraded center in the off-season which was my number one need before the trade.

Our second biggest need was a linebacker.

With out first two picks we went oline and linebacker.

Couldn't have drafted better for out team.

C but that's until I see what's going to happen with the rest of the OLine. Payton said there's no plan to Peat, Strief, or Armstead inside, so for now Peat looks like depth which would seem like a waste with that high of a pick. I love the Anthony pick though.

Of course a tard like you would think that a team could unilaterally tade back on its own.

Who would we have traded back to? And for what? And when? And how do you know?
