I didn't think he would get canned so quick. But I am excited and optimistic with the thought of completely revamping the D.

sarcasm bro.

We havent had a talent developer on defense in a long time. Hopefully we bring in someone who can coach these guys how to wrap up and ballhawk.

No secret that I'm not a fan of Spags, but I'm surprised he got fired. That being said, I like the message it sends.

I don't want Ryan. I wouldn't mind Crenel.
I'd love to have Mike Singletary!!!

Vilma will be interesting. He wanted out of NY because he didn't want to be in a 3-4.

I think Jordan is perfect for the 3-4. Wilson and Gallette may finally have a role on this team now. Hicks can probably play DE. Can Bunkley play NT? If not, we'll have to get one in the draft or FA.

Payton said yesterday at the his press conference he had no desire to talk to Greg Williams. Dude turned on his players. That ain't right.

Is anyone truly shocked? Saints gave up more yards than any team in NFL history.

Spags may or may not be a good DC but by any reasonable standard the D he put on the field was historically inept.

I'm happy that payton made the choice to fire spags. he was terrible not sure about 3-4defense . Need to pick up some linebackers to run the system but that definitely sounds like he has somebody in mind To run the defense

Canning Spags is a combo of dismal performance and changing philosophy. Doing it now gives him a better chance to catch on elsewhere.

Even though he coached the worst defense in NFL history(yardage wise) and I was ambivalent about him returning I feel bad for Spags. Only thing he did with Payton was get hired and fired.

Agreed. Not sure he got a fair shake but when you give up more yards than anyone in history, heads roll.

When Payton got here the first time he walked into the lockerroom, fired guys, made a statement and this team was never the same. It changed for the better. He is doing the same thing now. Our general is back commanding his troops and the rest of the NFL is fricked.

That was a few years and a knee injury ago. If anyone can pick it up fast, it'll be him.

honestly, i think him sitting around during his suspension probably had him thinking about everything. I wouldnt doubt this is where this idea brewed. Kinda scary to change the defense AGAIN, but also exciting.
