Saints Defense: Which one of you just called The Blitz ?

One of our defense's apologists just called Rich Gannon and Bruce Murray on The Blitz talking about Saints' playoff chances.
Rich and Bruce agreed that Drew is awesome and can carry a team and while the Saints have an outside shot at a WC, with a defense giving up 30ppg, what's the point?
The caller sounded like a poster on here...

What's the point of making the playoffs?
Seriously?
Anyone who places the blame for our losses this season on the defense doesn't know what they are watching. This past shitty game, that we won, doesn't change that
We've given up a lot of points this year, but we're generating a ton of turnovers now (10th), especially after a slow start in that category

Don't listen to radio, live in Houston, and never heard of the Blitz
But you're right, the 9 turnovers generated in the last 4 games hasn't helped win us games

The Blitz is on XM. Really good show, almost as good as Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller.
This team is 4-4 b/c of Drew Brees. With even a mediocre defense we are 6-2. His awesome play is dragging the 32nd rated 30ppg-allowing defense to respectability.
If they don't at least generate the turnovers, we are probably 2-6.

Bruce meant (I assume) the Saints aren't going anywhere if they get in.
I think making the playoffs is a huge deal, after starting 1-3.

100% agree.
Snapshots are fine, but there's no escaping where the defense is at the 1/2 point of the season.
It's a damn good thing they are taking the ball away, otherwise they'd be giving up 36 ppg.

Our offense was shite against Tampa, Carolina, and the Eagles. Hell, it was probably a net negative against the eagles.
And couldn't convert in the redzone against Arizona
Drew is supposed to be great, that is expected. We're starting multiple rookies on d, a bunch of new faces, and have had injuries + loss of Junior

Yes, if we didn't do the things that help win football games, we would have less wins.
But i agree, the 9 turnovers generated has been a huge reason for our streak, along with Brees playing great. Giving him the ball more helps
There isn't one loss this year that you can blame on the defense. The only point I'm making

The only thing I will argue in favor of this defense is its extremely (tops in NFL) high number in terms rookies and new additions. This coupled with injuries to the secondary is a major reason for the struggles. I think LOL. And due to all that its hard for me to put the hammer down on Rob just yet. Maybe in house CSP already knows where Rob will be next year but I can't tell.
