Update:

I remember Forbath from his UCLA days. He was money in college, and has made 60 out of 69 FG attempts in the NFL.

Bullock has had a good career too, but got cut last week after missing two extra points in one game.

According to Fox's Mike Garafolo, the Saints are staying put with kicker Zach Hocker for now.
New Orleans brought free agent kickers Randy Bullock and Kai Forbath in for workouts on Wednesday. Both kickers did well, but no contract was offered at this time.
Reportedly, Bullock made all of his kicks while Forbath missed one field goal from 53 yards out but did hit from 55 yards.
Despite their success, Hocker retains his job at the moment.
Update: Per ESPN's Field Yates Kyle Brindza also worked out for Saints on Wednesday.

The New Orleans Saints worked out at least two kickers on Wednesday, three days after Zach Hocker missed a 30-yard field goal at the end of regulation. Kai Forbath and Randy Bullock were in town for tryouts, according to a league source.
Forbath, 28, was cut by the Washington Redskins last month and replaced by Dustin Hopkins. The Saints had waived Hopkins just a week earlier after he lost a competitive training camp battle to Hocker.
Bullock, 25, was a fifth-round draft pick of the Houston Texans in 2012 after a college career that included winning the Lou Groza Award at Texas A&M. The Texans cut Bullock eight days ago after he missed two extra points. He was replaced by Nick Novak.

I think hocker is a good kicker, ashamed hes missing easy shite.

He nailed that beauty from outside of 50 against Dallas...that has to count.

Hocker had a great college career. The talent is there, but that 30 yard miss in crunch time was shocking. And the guy we cut, Dustin Hopkins, is doing great in Washington so far. He's 6 for 6 in FG's.

When Hopkins goes to Washington and hasn't missed a kick, I sorta find myself wondering if it's maybe not just the kicker. I know they won't always be 100% perfect right into his hands every time, but sometimes it looks to me on the replays like the long snaps are coming to McCown at completely different places every time: sometimes up high, down low, to the left, to the right. It might not be JUST the kicker to blame.

Payton didnt put all the blame on Hocker. he admitted that the snaps and holds need to get better as well.

I'm still surprised we picked Hocker over Hopkins. I got the feeling Hopkins was better by all reports.

Instead of looking at new kickers, they ought to be looking at new special teams coaches to replace McMahon.

I wonder if they are going to do this everytime he misses a kick. I remember a few years back when Hartley was missing and we brought back Carney; Carney was talking about how the rusher was getting around the right side too fast for him to be comfortable. As a result, Carney missed a few kicks early on and Payton made some changes to the FG blocking.
I'm not sure if this was the case w/ the 30 yarder, but I wonder if this was part of the problem Payton alluded to.

Hopkins has made nothing but 30 and 40 yarders so far. Meanwhile, Hocker has made some clutch 50 yarders. It was a good move

Hopkins won a few games for us at FSU by kicking a few last second 50+ yarders, I was shocked when he didn't win the job.

Yeah I like Hocker. If everybody on this team (coaches and players) were doing their job as well as Hocker is we'd be 2-2 or 3-1 right now.
Typical Payton though - he was as big a reason that we lost the TB game as anybody except for maybe Strief and of course he'll take the cowards way out and blame the fricking kicker.

The grass will always be greener, people.

Sounds about right.

How many punts has Hopkins placed inside the 12 yard line with under 5 minutes left to go in a tight game?

I like Hocker a lot better than either of those 2

Didn't we already do this a few weeks back, then stick with Hocker anyway?
I think this is more of a reality check for Hocker
