No surprise with the "deadline" being this coming Sunday. Both sides know how this works.

give it to him.

In 2012 he signed 5/100mil for a 20mil/yr average on 120.6mil cap, equates to 16.58%.

If he signed 4/100mil for 25mil/yr average on an a projected 166mil cap, it would equate to 15.06%.

Intredasting.

How accurate do these projections tend to be though?

overthecap usually estimates +10mil each year since 2013.
Even at the current 155.3mil, it's 16.1%
Say it goes only up to 160mil, its 15.63%...still less than before.

That's the hold up. How much gets fully guaranteed and how much for injury?

If it is a 4 year $100 mil contract, I think we could see close to $60 mil fully guaranteed.

I started looking around, don't see anything yet.

Also, how does to affect the 2016 cap if he signs and does that give us more cash for a last minute OL signing?

Or, you know, hit on 1 of the 7 draft picks we get every year

Brees' contract wouldn't be a big deal if we could supplement it with cheap depth through the draft

or not have 35.6mil in dead cap? I mean the 12.1mil from Junior was more or less unavoidable at the time.

giving out poor contracts:
Browner 4.05mil

But this is the downfall of holding on vets for too long:
Evans 5.1mil
Colston 2.7mil
Hawthorne 2.26mil
