I think reseeding is a great idea since it's BS that a team with a better record has to travel and play a team with a worse record just because said team won it's division.

Adding one more wild card team (bad idea) will increase the possibility of an 8-8 team or worse making the playoffs every season. But, this will fill the pockets of the commish and owners as well so I guess we'll be having an expanded playoff system in the near future.

Adding more teams is a HORRIBLE idea imo.

But reseeding is necessary in some cases.

I like your reseeding idea. No to an expansion of the playoffs though. We already have questionable teams making the playoffs.

This

On the DP show yesterday DP said one more Wild Card would be added in each conference. I think it's Goodell's way of adding another NFL weekend of games and skirting the issue of extending the regular season.

They should go back to three divisions with three wildcards.

They only need to change one thing and that is what everyone has said. No team 8-8 deserves to even come close to hosting a playoff game, even if they win their division.

16/3 = 5.33333 teams in each division, are you supporting uneven size divisions dropping a team from each conference or adding 4 teams to the league?

shite happens. There were uneven divisions before and somehow the league survived.

IMO..

The best way to do the playoffs is to get rid of divisions and only have conferences. Each team plays all the other teams in their conference once. That is 15 games. Then they play an out of conference game against the team that finished in the same place as them the prior year. Top 6 teams go to playoffs with the top 2 teams having a bye.

It's fine like it is. A team should be rewarded for winning its division.

Your reward should be a guaranteed playoff spot. Shouldn't be a home game lock imo.

But what is it hurting? 3 of the 4 lower seeds won this weekend, on the road. Almost all four. That will happen this weekend.....all lower seeds/road teams win.

With three divisions the chances of having a subpar one where the champion has a worse record than the higher wild card seeds are significantly less. I really don't care for the rumored proposal that they'll just add another wild card team and take away the second seed bye. So just one team gets a bye? At that point you might as well just add another wildcard and give no one a bye.

2 divisions and 4 wildcards. Wildcards play it out and then play two division winners. Playoffs will still be three wks

I'm actually fine with the current seeding arrangement. It increases the importance and excitement of division rivalries. If you want the higher seed then win the division. You have no one to blame but yourself.

Saints or 49ers would have won the North and East in the NFC if they were in those divisions. What is your point exactly?

You talking to me? My point is obvious. I stated it. What's your point? The Saints and 49ers don't play in those divisions, so they didn't win them. I see no point.

The point is, and has become more obvious in recent years, is that there is a disadvantage to better teams having to travel to a lesser team's home field just because they won a suck arse division. It should be seeded on record not based on a division!!
