The biggest thing for this team is health. We literally lost our top 5 corners for the season last year. If we had 3 of those top 5 corners we probably win 10 games last year

7-9 seems about right, hopefully I'm wrong though.

I'd say 9-7/10-6.
that first game against the Vikings has me puzzled.
Their D under Zimmer has been stout since he's been the HC. Other than some late season hiccups on D last year, they did not give up a lot of points.
believe it or not I'm not worried about New England.. if the Saints aren't fired up for that one or play uninspired.. then forget about it.

11-5 or 10-6.
The biggest addition this off-season is RG Larry Warford. Give Drew Brees a pocket and he will tear defenses apart. The last time Drew had a solid pocket was what? 2013? A year where he didn't have Jahri Evans on one leg or Tim Lelito getting him blasted on almost every other play. The damage he can do to opposing defenses and the clock I might add will change gamelans immensely.
The biggest thing we need on defense aside from some young and hungry rookies is either AJ Klein or Manti Te'o to be a leader. We need a smart and intense middle linebacker who can get us in place and set instead of running around like chickens with our heads cut off.
This is how I would approach the rest of the off-season;
Draft
1. 11. Christian McCaffery RB Stanford
1. 32. Reuben Foster LB Alabama
2. 42. DeMarcus Walker DE Florida State
3. 76. Marcus Williams S Utah
3. 103. Sidney Jones CB Washington
That's assuming we don't trade for Butler. Next, even despite drafting McCaffery, I'd bring in Adrian Peterson and give us a 3 headed monster at RB. Punish defenses with Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson, then make them chase McCaffery on passing downs or in the slot.

Reporters haven't learned to wipe their own asses yet. How could anyone pay attention to what any of them have to say?

Best summary of where we are sitting now G!
Couldn't agree more about the coaching moves.

the reporters are being generous.

Good for them. I'll wait for a game or two in preseason.

I predict 8-8 for the 4th straight season.

Not going to the Greenbrier and all of the new coaches should be worth a 3 game improvement. It'll be nice to see us start out in football shape and not in country club shape working to football shape.

like it's so erroneous to think a 7-9 team 4 out of 5 years will go 7-9 again

Yall underestimate us so bad. We're really not the far away from the playoffs. If we can stay healthy, we'll go 12-4. Just stf and watch the draft.

Not to mention other key players that missed significant time...
Kikaha, pass rusher we really needed
Armstead, elite LT
Sheldon Rankins, interior pusher
Hoomanawanui, TE/HB and special teams stud
Erik Harris, SS and special teams stud
Sanford, FS and special teams stud
But as mentioned, no team can recover from losing their top 5 CB's for nearly an entire season. The position is simply too important for freakishly excessive injuries.
