I know reggie is owed 8 million in his last year of his optional contract. Can we renegotiate that for a long term deal or what? I would really like to keep reggie a SAINT for a long time!

I agree 100%... I'll never give up on him no matter how many hate. I NEVER expected him to run laps around players like he did in college... There is no denying that he has changed his running and continues to learn the NFL game. More importantly I would like to see the Saints keep him because he is a member from the 2006 season, it's when it ALL started.

Reggie's best years are still ahead of him. He's finally learning to hit the holes and he's reading his blocks much better.

I think he likes it here and he now know he is not an every down back. With the N.O saints he have longer...well longevity and would get out relatively unscathed.

I heard a couple of months ago that Reggie would not re-negotiate his 8 or 9 million for this coming year...you would have to think with a Super Bowl & everything else going on, that he would re-negotiate for the good of the team. Reggie Bush is part of the winning equation for the Saints, & I think his best interests are served remaining a Saint as well, so I don't want to see him go, although I know at one point not too long ago there were constant threads about getting rid of him...

Great question. A great friend of mine is from SoCal and went to Tulane Undergrad and followed that with an MBA from USC. He always comes for Jazz Fest and in 2006 he brought me a USC visor. I proudly wore it to the Jazz Fest that year. Bush is a big part of the offense and Payton will keep him.

I'd leave it for this year. Unless they think they can sign him for Devon Hester type money, @ 4 mill a year.

DOUCHE. Its one thing to be polite, its a whole another thing to "proudly" wear a USC visor.

he is a td machine.

he has also produced a touchdown when it counts most. in every single playoff game appearance except the superbowl.. against the eagles (same drive he got lit up by sheldon brown he gets back up and scores), bears (took a quick pass like 80 yards to the house), cardinals (absolute beast), and vikings. he wasn't really given a chance in the superbowl, but it's all good.

i hope he is a saint for a very long time. his best days are definitely still ahead of him.

Thomas is a much more consistent "TD machine" than Bush over the last couple of years.

I'd love to have Bush around. He does seem to be finally turning the corner in the running game.

BIG problem is, Pierre is better and more consistent, and it's really not a good idea to pay $9 million for a backup/3rd down type of running back.

We may have to part ways with him right as he's hitting his stride, which would suck, but would be totally understandable.

It was draft day when the Saints picked Reggie. I haven't worn it since.

I want to keep him to, but not at the expense of other players. I see where several have said he goes with Pete to Seattle, but if they draft CJ Spiller, aren't they the same type of player?
