I say support the guy. He is a Saint. He does things for this team that doesn't even get notice. His pass protection has improved.. (Yes he got blown up one play today.. but who didn't on our team?).. He had an excellent block on Wilson that allowed Brees to hit Colston for a TD later in the game. He puts in extra time at practice.. just like this past week he helped the defense prepare for the Wild Cat. He has donated and done charity for the city/state from day one since becoming a Saint.

This dude is held under the biggest microscope ever. Nothing he can do is ever right for his haters. He is a team player, he doesn't get into trouble off the field, Payton is finding out how to utilize his talents. bc the guy is still an asset to this team and we can be very successful with him. He's picked up numerous third downs this season receiving the ball. I still say he has a great second half. He is constantly dissed by his own fan base and he knows it.. he is busting his arse. Support him. He is a Saint. He has always rose to the occasion after dealing with adversity. Just like the game today.. Payton chewed him out.. and he still went out there and gave a tremendous effort on that touchdown and the pass blocking play that allowed the Colston td.

People just come to accept Reggie.. and be glad we have 2 power backs to compliment him. This is why I can't understand why everyone bitches about him. Get over where he was drafted.. it's in the past and really there are far worse bust out of that first round than Reggie. I PROMISE YOU. Be glad we got Brees and aren't stuck with Vince or Leneirt.. and can afford to have Reggie as a luxury.. Don't worry about his salary.. You don't pay it.. His contract can be addressed in the future. If he needs to take a paycut or let go then so be it.. Reggie was instrumental to the 2006 season's success. As a rookie nonetheless. He and Colston lead the team in receiving I believe. He also came up HUGE when it mattered most. In the playoff game against the Eagles he got absolutely blown up by Sheldon Brown.. Nothing he could do about it.. On that very same possession Bush came back in the game and scored a critical touch down. Yet everyone questions his toughness. He earned a lot of respect from me for that. Then in the Chicago game he was a game breaker taking that quick pass from Brees to the house for like a 90+ TD.. The dude has delivered in the postseason and will again if given the chance.

This team doesn't need any superstars. It's all about finding out how to spread the ball and utilize everyones talents to our benefit. This is why I love this team so much. You got

Moore small but quick, tremendous route runner and possibly best hands on the team

Colston Big target, tremendous pass catcher
Shockey Big Athletic TE who plays with intensity *I remember a lot of people hated this trade and it looked bad last season
Henderson Speedster, Down field weapon. * I was so happy when we re-signed him. Again I remember lots of fans were against it because of his drops.*
Meachem Good size, another deep threat, good hops and spectacular catching ability. * Another guy who most fans hated on *

Bell Straight up bruiser back
Thomas Versatile power back

Reggie Bush Most versatile back who can line up in the slot. Great with the ball in space.

Heath Evans Versatile Full Block. Blocks well and can pass catch.

No one guy really needs to have tremendous stats outside of Brees.. and even he doesn't have to. I love this team and ever single player on it. Seems like we are building something special here and being a Saint is almost an honor. As corny as that sounds. I'm proud of this squad. There is a clear difference in not supporting a guy like an Aaron Brooks who clearly had moments of not caring and would often fold in adversity.. Moments of interceptions. Reggie has only fumbled once this season and only 2x's rushing last season. Dude humbles himself for the success of the team. He no longer trains out in LA in the offseason. Remember that free flo do crap? lol. He spends his offseason workouts with the Saints.

You just said exactly everything I have ever thought about Bush. I love that he's a Saint.

That touchdown leap from the 6 yard line perfectly explains why I and everyone else should still like Reggie Bush

Thank you, Reggie, for not fumbling a KR. Also, thank you for flying through the air for a touchdown.

it's a positive now when he simply just doesn't fumble right. even tho he only has a 1 fumble rushing this season.. and only 2 fumbles rushing the entire 08 season.

so let's forget the 90-95% of his play the rest of the game?

bush made 2 good plays yesterday and about 10-12 bad ones. THAT is why he faces scrutiny

he's just not that good of a player. it's that simple. and to make it worse, when we lean on him to be the focal point of our offense (instead of pierre or mike bell), our offense declines.

payton is addicted to reggie and there's always the threat he'll try to focus on reg. THAT is the worry.

what's the number of touches for everyone? seems pretty even. personally i think pierre should start.

but it seems like reggie, pierre, and then mike bell all get around the same share.

bush: 3 rushing carries for 10 yards and a td
thomas: 8 rushing carries for 30 yards
bell: 12 rushing carries for 80 yards

still again reggie doesn't have to be forced and i don't see how he truly was with a stat line like that?

and they shouldn't

pierre/bell should get about 90% of the runs, if not more, and 90% of the PT

did you notice our offensive improvement when we ran bell/pierre instead of bush yesterday?

how many times did we put him in motion to go split wide so brees could throw at him? 3-4 times at least

well then i guess you got exactly what you are saying then.. bell for the majority, pierre for second highest, and reggie for only 3 carries.

and i kind of got a feeling you'll continue to see a heavier dose of bell and pierre and reggie's minimum offensive touches to be utilized to the maximum affect.

i mean look at russell shepard saturday.. prime example. les finally caved in and tried to force things with russell shepard and he was lookin rough and getting blown up.. and then next thing you notice.. boom went the dynomite.

Great post! Reggie has the misforune if you want to call it that of winning the heisman. It ramps up the expectations by 1000 percent. Also, I wonder if being a USC alum and playing for an NFL team 80 miles from the LSU campus has anythhing to do with the discontent. Reggie will continue to turn up big for us. The scary thing is that he has only scratched the surface with his ability. In the words of ronald reagan we aint seen nothin yet. yesterday's TD against the dolphins is only a small clue of what he can do.

On to something else. Every body has ragged on devery. He has always been a deep threat. Looks like this year he is developing the ability to also become a posession receiver and probably, eventually on his way to the pro bowl.

Weve got more weapons on this offense than a showdog can jump over. Let's enjoy the ride!
