I'm reading a ton of nonsense on this board.

IMO, The media is over-hyping the consequences. Especially considering many of these outlets are focused in the West and NE.

At most, the Saints get a big fine and a few players are suspended a game or two.

At least, the Saints get a big fine.

Punishment like this would be consistent with any other "scandal" in the past.

Keep in mind, the NFL is a for-profit and profit FIRST organization. Reducing the Saints ability to perform more than a game or two is not in their best interest financially.

If this was college football, completely different scenario.

First thing that needs to happen is to put GW out of the NFL

I can see the Saints PR department making Williams out to be the real villain here.

Then let the RAMS deal with it.

I'm worried it'll be two 1st rounds. We know we'll lose at least a 1st round pick and it'll be more than spygate. So hopefully they take our second this year and our 32nd in next year's draft. They'll probably fine the Saints $500,000, suspend players 6 games along with $50,000 fines. Don't really care what happens to Gregg Williams.

Don't believe that will happen. There are too many other players from other teams speaking out about how this is commom through out the league and has been going for who knows how long.

Will there be some form of punishment for him? Yes, probaly suspended a few games and fined.

Because this crap is looked up on as 10 times worse than spygate. They took the Patriots first and you can bet your arse they'll be taking the Saints as well, possibly even more. If you think the Saints get by just suspensions and fines you got another thing coming.

Im hearing its not going to be that bad now cause redskins came out. If they take a pick the commish is going to have a problem with saints lawyers. It will not be fair if they take ours but dont take the other teams involved. I see and hearing a million dollar fine and rights to a fanchise tag. Suspensions for those listed in articles. If they do take a pick i think it will be just the second round pick at most.

A draft pick or 2, heavy fines, and the media to continue acting like we killed Favre and Warner's wives and first born children and fed their liver and spleens to a pack of rabid coyotes.

This would be dumb. Others teams will more than likely be found guilty of some type of bounty program. If they hit the saints this hard they will have to treat other teams the same and ruin the season. That is way too severe. This is being blown way out of proportion. Spygate was worse in my opinion. They were caught cheating.

Because ESPN said it every 30 seconds yesterday so it must be true.

Draft picks would be way too harsh IMO.

Fines and possible suspensions are more realistic.

Loomis is going to get canned by Benson. He lied to his boss and didn't carry out an order. Also will show that Benson and the team is getting the message and might ease up punishment. Probably next year's 1st is forfeited, monetary fines and multi-game suspension for Payton.

Saints get fined. Maybe lose a draft pick. Goodell resign in shame for pussifying football and goes down as the shittiest person in history.

Hearing rumors of a 1-year post-season ban. Would be extreme but Goodell wants to send a message.

In my opinion, getting more punishment than spygate is straight up dumb. I can solidify this stance with three arguments.

1. Spygate provided an unfair advantage. Bounties do no such thing unless extra motivation is considered an advantage along the lines of knowing what plays the other team is going to run........We gain no competitive advantage because a. the other team is doing it aswell and b. the game has flags directly opposing "illegal hits."

2. Every team has bounties and a few have been proven. No other teams came out in the spygate mess.

3. It wasn't team mandated.

This whole thing is retarded. I don't even want to watch sports news right now bc opinions on this story make me want to go through the tv and strangle people. I don't understand how the "high brow" north east can have an opinion so fundamentally wrong.

Fines, suspensions, GW suspension, maybe a late pick or two.

I wish there were other sports as entertaining as football because shite like this makes me want to boycott this shite league. The only problem is baseball, soccer, and basketball are terrible in comparison. The only other thing I enjoy watching as much as football is mma.

Basically the nfl has got my balls while slapping me in the face.

I'm very angry, rawr.
