DE Tavaris Barnes-DT Kaleb Eulls-OT/OG Sean Hickey-DE Bobby Richardson all had draftable grades.Overall i give this years class a solid A-minus.Not sure if its up to his 2013 UFDA class which to me was a A-plus one.All 12 will have a fair shot to crack the 53 roster or 10 man practice squad. That in fact truth is how Payton is able to recruit such good UFDA players each year.

A+. Specially when we land Lael tomorrow

But that's one of the great things about Payton and Loomis since they've been here. You know they're gonna get a few guys every single year that will contribute from the UDFA pool. I think that reputation certainly helps.

I would love La'el to come here, but where does that leave Strief? I know he's at the back end of his career, but do we roll with all 3 for depth right now? I'd think Collins would want to go somewhere where he can start because he has the tools to do so.

I'm willing to bet if we sign Collins it will be with the intent of moving him to LG, a position he thrived at while playing for LSU, and that would be just fine by me.

Right guard I take it? Jahri Evans LG, correct?

So Peat would back up Strief temporarily unless he just blows him out of the water then?

Yes La'el would make the Saints UFDA class a all time NFL best. However i think it will 50-50 if its cleared up in time for him to play this year.So please give a grade on the 12 player group we know of.A-plus to F as its easy to find info on each player online. If you like even for each player.

According to PFF, Streiff is still one of the top RTs in the NFL and grades better than Armstead. Who's to say this won't be a Peat vs. Armstead deal? Then the loser of the two plays backup to both sides and takes over when Strief retires or moves on. Just a thought.

I just find it hard to believe Collins sees this as a good place to maximize his money early for missing the draft. Oh well, we will find out sooner or later. I can see him wanting to join his boy Jeremy hill in Cincinnati.

Yeah I think Armstead has a lot more to worry about than Strief. Peat was the best pure LT in the draft and projects better to that side (though he could play both).

If it is a case where no one moves to guard (which is NOT what Payton said but adding Collins would likely kill a move) then I see Armstead to the bench.

Strief has been our best lineman the last two years and has graded out very high.

Armstead has been okay to good but not great, which is better than what we're used to at LT so people overrate him. He is definitely a capable starter and shows promise but is not playing at the near pro bowl level (if RTs actually actually the pro bowl he would have) Strief is.

Thought I read that playing bonus money was huge for UDFA so here he may not see the field as fast.

I would think Collins would be an immediate starter at G.

Makes sense. God this line would be sick if he came here.

RG is Evans spot. As long as he is here he is the RG. If we sign Collins (which I'm not banking on) he will be LG with the possibility of moving to RG or RT once Evans or Strief leaves.

If Peat wins a starting job, be it this year or next, I see it being at LT though wouldn't be shocked of he was a RT. That means that Armstead would kick over to RT and Strief inside to LG or that Armstead kicks in at LG.

It's also possible no one moves, Armstead goes to the bench, and Lelito and Kelemete compete for the LG spot.

This is why Payton said he doesn't see Armstead or Strief moving inside initially. There are way to many variables at this point to say who is playing where except for Unger at C and Evans at RG. Peat may not start this year. We just don't know any of this yet.

But this much is certain: we will play the five best players. Who that is and where is tbd.
