Any chance we sign a free agent now or a veteran once the cuts are made?

I think we take a look at a couple Vets, but this next set of cuts/last game will be very telling on how much they like Rufus and Eric Martin.

Chase Thomas?

He had a second round grade coming into the draft!

Parys Haralson has been mentioned a bunch. 9ers are trying trade him and if they can't he may get cut. Probably would only have to give up a conditional 6th or 7th round pick.

He's not great or anything, but he might be better than anything we have, depth wise.

Exactly what I think. It's possible one or neither of them made the squad before but now they could both make it.

We also have Atkins and Richardson and they've been playing in front of the rookies.

I think just for veteran depth if we don't sign someone we take both Atkins and Richardson and most likely Martin(if not just bring 6 OLBs and take Johnson also) as he has shown a little more.

Yeah, I think this guy may well be an immediate starter.

Smith's gone, Martez & Junya have yet to take a game snap at LB.

Haralson comes in with 7 years exp as a former starting 3-4 OLB on one of the league's better defenses over the past 5 years. Add in, he's been beasting this preseason.
