Playoff Machine (Possible scenarios for saints making or missing the playoffs)

Saints make the playoffs if:
They win out (obviously)
New Orleans defeats Atlanta, and Carolina loses to Cleveland
New Orleans defeats Atlanta, and Atlanta defeats Carolina
New Orleans loses to Atlanta but defeats Tampa, Carolina loses to Cleveland but defeats Atlanta
Saints miss the playoffs if:
They lose out (obviously, Carolina @ Atlanta decides division winner)
Carolina wins out, and New Orleans loses either game (Carolina wins division)
Atlanta wins out (Atlanta wins division)
New Orleans loses to Atlanta, and Carolina defeats Cleveland
They win out (obviously)
New Orleans defeats Atlanta, and Carolina loses to Cleveland
New Orleans defeats Atlanta, and Atlanta defeats Carolina
New Orleans loses to Atlanta but defeats Tampa, Carolina loses to Cleveland but defeats Atlanta

Let's just win out. Don't want to have to depend on Atlanta in week 17 against Carolina. They let us down last year.

Playoffs and draft aside I REALLY want to get to 8-8 for a non losing season. I'm a old old Saints fan and this is still important to me.

This is why the loss to Carolina was such a bitter letdown.
The Saints could have taken control of the whole thing once and for all, right then and there. Now we have two weeks to slug it out, and if we lose a single game, we then need all sort of unlikely dominos to fall correctly to get us in. A win against Carolina would have made the whole Carolina tie thing irrelevant AND would have made the Atlanta game into them chasing us from behind and needing help, instead of the two teams being head to head with an even shot. There's plenty of scenarios where Carolina could still frick us with that tie of theirs. Oh well.

i'm pretty sure he's trying to tell you calling them that nickname is pretty lame. wdf is just trying to make you a better poster and the board a better place. Stop being so combative with him and accept his tutelage.
