I think you nailed it.

Done. This interesting to me. How is he going to affirm Goodell findings and totally undo his punishments? It seems like he's talking out of both sides of his mouth.

I was just typing something like this. It makes no sense.

This thread is ripe with discussion and Vilma and Smith have been free for a while, the emoticons need to stop and people need to read. The damage is done for the season, so he gave us 2 old washed up guys back. And he further said his ruling has nothing to do with the Saints' organization and the players and coached contaminated the process. Calm down people. We arent out the woods yet.

They don't care about the players. Losing our coach crippled us enough and his "decision" backed up the Goodell was "right"

sounds like a chickenshit escape strategy for the league while still trying to create a factual basis to protect Goodell from Vilma's defamation suit and protect NFL from organizational backlash due to the bullshite imposed on the Saints. Color me unsatisfied.

There's still Vilma's defamation suit for Goodell to deal with.

Sure, the legalize MIGHT protect him, but still discovery's a bitch...

Got to be for the defamation case against Goddell, if Taglibue said they are totally wrong then Roger is fricked in that case.

The major question is whether Vilma's defamation and slander suit continue to go forward. Vilma would be crazy to drop the suit now.

He says there was evidence Vilma offered a bounty on Favre. If that's true Vilma ain't playing. That's bs.

Is there? No penalty is probably as close as Vilma will get to getting his name back. Why keep paying Ginsberg money to eventually lose in court?

If anything, this affirms that we won't get our pick back.

Pretty smart ruling. Gets rid of players who have a mechanism to fight them, while still saying it was wrong and blaming the org, where the damage is already done.

frick you again Goodell.
