Saints placed CB P.J. Williams on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season.
Williams was the 78th overall pick in this year's draft. He was unlikely to see the field much in year one behind starters Keenan Lewis and Brandon Browner in addition to reserve Delvin Breaux. Williams will be ready next offseason.

Not getting anything out of your drafted players is kind of the Saints' thing.

Davidson/Tull/Swann/Murphy should all pitch in and play decent sized roles.

That's what 6-7 of your draft picks contributing? That's actually pretty good.

Swann will likely make the roster (and may even be fourth DB behind Lewis, Browner, and Breaux; SJB should make it too). Davison also. And don't forget our 7th round pick is out returner and may actually factor in on offense especially with the Spiller injury.

So yeah we don't miss on all of our draft picks.

Oh and there was some guy named Cooks too....

Edit:
Of course I forgot Tull. Haven't seen enough of him yet but with Powell and Spencer gone he might stick.

How long has he been injured. There was almost no talk about him in camp and at one point he was considered a late first round pick

I think he was injured on and off a few times. He was healthy throughout OTAs from what I remember but maybe got hurt about a week into camp.

Not enough time to develop of show what he could do.

it's really sad. i realize it happens across the league, but it sure seems like we've had quite some misses here lately.

i'll be happy if just Anthony and Kikaha work out..

So one of our drafted guys is put on IR, and all of a suddent we are saying we are getting nothing out of him or the draft class? Yeah okay. Guess Kikaha, Murphy, Anthony, and Peat aren't gonna do anything this year?

You are looking for difference makers. Anthony and Kikaha are most likely to be that in year 1. Peat seems like a decent bet in year 2 on. The rest seem like long shots.

How has Williams and Anthony done in the preseason thus far? I live in Dallas so the saints game aren't on tv here and classes don't start at La Tech until the 10th. So until then I won't be able to watch the saints, thanks in advance

Williams has been mostly hurt. He looks decent the little I saw of him. Not enough to get a real opinion.

Anthony has had his ups and downs but definitely looks like an upgrade and someone who actually has speed and can cover.

Speaking of speed Edebali and Kikaha have it. Those guys are lightning quick. And for someone of Edebali's size it is very impressive. They both need to learn to play within the play and not overpursue or try to do too much.

Edebali has definitely put on some mass since last year. Looks like a beast

Is it me or do the Saints really struggle when drafting cornerbacks? That must be one of the most difficult positions to evaluate and project coming out of college.

It is. No question.

They've struggled with LB more than anything. Hopefully this year is different.
