God, I hope so

From Chargers site, link below

quote:

The second alteration is to the collar of the jerseys. “We switched to what is called a self-color collar,” Spanos explained. “Basically the collar is going to be the same color as the jerseys. So on navy it will be navy, on white it will be white and on powder it will be powder. Last year we had a white collar that ended in a square and there were comments about it looking like a neckroll. The Chargers are not alone, there are six teams changing their collars this year without making major changes to the uniform just as we are.”

I hope so, only because I'm tired of seeing the threads.

There may be something to that. How can we ever come together as a team if our collars are divided?

I hope so as well. I don't mind the new gold scheme, but those collars drive me up the wall. Every time I see the away jerseys, I just want to run onto the field with a sharpie and color them in.

I would like these uniforms if the "gold" wasn't more like a tan/beige. That annoys me. At least make it more of an old gold or something.

I really hope so. Those things are fugly.

I try not to get too worked up about uni's but come on, that was one of the most universally despised moves I can remember (from all the teams).

Ban backwards Nike checks.

The reason the Nike Swoosh is backwards is similar to why American flags on Army uniforms are backwards.

The flag is warn this way to symbolize early American armies which had a flag carrier holding our flag high. The backwards flag signifies this and gives the perception that every soldier is carrying a flag. Left arm patches are correctly laid.

Nike did this in similar fashion as though every player is carrying the Nike flag.

That's taking football jerseys too seriously.

Hated last year's collar with Nike taking over. Looked like they were wearing a cape out of a Batman movie.

Sadly, no.

quote:

Both the Vikings and Dolphins revamped their uniforms, not surprisingly leaving the collar out to die, but five other teams appear to have ditched the Neck Roll look as well--the Ravens, Broncos, Redskins, Chargers, Bills and Buccaneers. Click the above photo to enlarge (or visit the individual links to the Nike pages).

Great news on all accounts. This welcome change would leave just the Bengals, Saints and Rams in collared hell
