He is better than Harper but coverage isn't one of his stonger skills.

Bunch of dumb fricks in here. I'll bet none of them actually sat down and watched him play. He had ZERO help on defense and they shifted him in CB situations because they had so much confidence in his coverage ability.

Reid would've been a much worse pick. He played on an incredible defense with a good pass rush and still looked horrible in coverage.

You can't cover all day if you have no help on the pass rush.

Bookmark this thread. Now I am not saying he won't ever get burned, but the guy can cover.

YEa if people would like to see a safety that can't cover look no further than Reid. Texas, like you said, put him on almost an island at times.

And in one year Reid went from all-world to completely forgetting how to cover. Why? Because he was surrounded by amazing players that disguised his weaknesses. He could play more centerfield last year with Claiborne/TM7/Taylor on an island. When he was asked to cover in nickel situations this year, he looked bad and flipped his hips slow. He was absolutely terrible in man situations.

This guy showed you his potential in a horrible system so you can't really hide flaws in that system. Yet, he still looked better than Reid. I'll take the guy with no help whatsoever on defense over the guy who had plenty of help hiding his deficiencies. It's a safer and smarter pick.

Saints must feel comfortable with what we have in Butler/Galette/Tez. Butler has potential. We don't know what medical flags Jones has. We gave plenty of needs outside OLB. Stop bitching armchair GMs.
