Payton to Dallas

Was just in a group text from a good friend of mine (saints fan) who said his business partner's brother who works with Jerry Jones told him its 95% Payton is in Dallas next year. He asks if we hve heard anything like this. Immediately another guy chimes in saying he went hunting at some ridiculously expensive lodge with Jones' son 3 weeks ago and after finding out he was a saints fan, Jones' son laughs and says "well we got your coach".
I don't believe Payton will leave Drew but these 2 dudes are my closest friends and die hard saints fans. They aren't the type to joke about shite like this. I need some positive reinforcement (to go along with the flaming I'll receive due to it being word of mouth with no link) to make me be able to sleep tonight

well jerry jones broke a lot of nfl rules if he's been in contact.
The nfl will toll over his contract according to Florio if it comes down to it

I told him I wouldn't believe it until he signed. Didn't think about jones not being able to be in contact with coach

I understand that. Is he unable to communicate with anyone in the NFL or is strictly the saints org?

he's only able to communicate with the Saints organization right now in order to work out a new deal. He's banned from contact with the NFL period. He's under contract right now so he can't talk to anyone in the NFL outside of the Saints anyways

or he is just using it as leverage to get more money. The nfl may not even allow him to leave after this season
