Pretty adamant sound bite

Not really his decision if he wants to be back or not....

I can give you 7-9 reasons why he should definitively be back.

That's unfortunate if he indeed comes back.

tim i have a serious question but i'm not sure if you could answer it...
has there ever been a time where Payton has said prior to the show that there was a topic he would not answer questions on? he does have the right to refuse questions or anything like that?
similar stuff has happened before and it seems like Payton is way more open with Deke & Bobby than he is the beat guys, and i think it's mostly just because he hates all of the beat guys. Holder & Duncan are stammering on about his use of the word plan and how it leaves him an opening but i just don't see why he'd answer this question in any fashion if that was his intention.

"Plan" is weak. It's what you say when you're uncertain. Plans change.

he knew the question was coming. could've told them he wouldn't talk about it.

Coachspeak at its finest. What else is he supposed to do? Should he take the Saban approach instead?

Good.
He runs a solid offense and he's one of the best QB coaches ever.
Now fire your fricking friends and get someone to coach the defense.

We just need a defense. How hard can it be to be a mediocre defense?

As far I know this season, no. He doesn't have contact with anyone before

quote:
“My plan is definitely to be back here,” Payton said, via Mike Triplette of ESPN.com. “Shoot I’ve got four more years on my contract here. And I plan on honoring that.”
Payton has resisted responding to the various rumors, many of which are planted by sources with an agenda to ambitious and/or desperate national reporters unwilling or unable to say, “Sorry, boss, I don’t have anything new today.”

Anything La Canfora says is always incredibly wrong. His Saints source is really bad

Holder is sticking to his guns and is catching a lot of heat.
I'm willing to bet that he jumped the gun on the Loomis-Payton meeting because Rapport beat him to the Rams-Saints CSP interest and now he has to act like he's in the know.
He knows he jumped the gun but can't go back now

Good. I want him back. I just want damn near everyone else in the organization gone.
