Or so he says

@Saints: Payton said they had Andrus Peat graded ahead of LSU OL La'el Collins from the beginning #SaintsDraft

He did say they had La'el graded highly but Peat was much higher.

He said they see Collins as a guard.

@LSUBeatTweet: "We have a real good grade on (La'el) Collins," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "Our projection on him is as a guard. Dominant, physical."

Oh were getting Collins too for sure

Would You rather pay Armstead big money in 2017 or pick up Peat's player option in 2018?

Seems pretty obvious to me.

Walterfootball had Peat #2 and Lael #3

I'd love Collins as a guard. He's a mauler

Did you just liken the value of Brees and Armstead?

no i'm saying brees will be done/fading and our team will suck, so that issue will be miniscule/irrelevant

Two seasons is a long time away. Plus your scenario of letting Armstead walk in 2017 means we either dumped Strief 1 or 2 seasons into a 5 year deal, or Peat sat on the bench for 1 or two seasons of his rookie deal. That's not an efficient use of draft picks/cap space.

Let's get Collins next (in 3rd). Worth the risk considering those who don't pan out
