Think of the Ravens in recent years. Once their secondary started to deteriorate their defense started slipping and they had great pass rushers.
this is just wrong. ignoring their investment in the secondary, kruger/suggs make that D go. there is a reason their D improved and they got hot once suggs came back
The Steelers are a completely different team without Polamalu, and they have great pass rushers.

they can, but safeties are abundant and don't have a lot of value accordingly
pass rushers are more important and rare, which is why they cost so damn much
