Panthers most trusted beat writer, Bill Voth says Panthers will take McCaffery at 8.

If Fournette isn't on the board of course. Voth has called numerous 1st rounders for the Panthers in years past almost always getting them right and having a pretty good ear on what the Panthers are doing draft wise. He also says that he wouldn't be shocked if Panthers try to package picks to move up for Fournette either. Finally, claims that the Panthers are in love with David Njoku from Miami but don't know if he's worthy of the 8th pick. While it may be smoke screens, I love that so many top ten picks are thinking offense.

If they pick an RB with their 1st, I hope it is not Fournette.

He says to not be shocked if they move up in the draft but word is San Francisco is very, very high on Fournette too. Either way, it comes across that the Panthers are determined to go offense in round 1, whether it be RB or TE.

McCaffrey is the type of player that will wreck our defense. He'll be murdering us for a decade.

I would say it's a good thing it will push defenders down to us, but most people have expected the Panthers to take an offensive player regardless so...

McCaffrey is a little Marshall Faulk-ish and I remember how he would kill us.

I just don't buy all the McCaffery hype. I think he's the guy that all these teams are "leaking" they are really high on hoping some team in the 20's that has fallen in love with him will trade up to get. I don't see the Panthers using the number 8 pick on a RB that isn't an every down back with all the holes in that team.

He doesn't seem to fit what they've traditionally liked to do. Seems like Cook would be a better fit

He's got a 2nd round grade. That would make the draft if the pulled that trigger.

For McCaffery? He has pretty damn strong genetics given who his parents and grandfather are

His dad was an NFL wideout for 13 years, his uncle played basketball at Duke, his mother played soccer at Stanford, his grandfather was world-record holder in the 100-yard dash in the mid-’50s and his little brother was a 5* recruit that is at Michigan to play QB.

Are JJ Watt and Luke Kuechly as genetically deficient as Mccafrey as well?

Can McCaffery carry the ball 20 to 30 times a game in the NFL? That would be my only concern because the Panthers are looking for a back that will do that. I'm just not sure if he fits that mold.

Prob not. But between the passing game & run game could handle 20 touches

What does that have to do with plying rb in the nfl. I stand by my statement that the genetic odds say that he wont be successful. There has been 1 or 2 white rbs that went over 1000 yards rushing in the last 30 years. When is the last time a white rb went for over 1000 2 seasons in a row?

There is always a chance that he could be great, but I wouldnt bet on it and the statistics back that up.

Good lord there is so much wrong here...I'm willing to bet you don't actually know much about genetics, odds, or statistics.

Are you retarded, racist, or both?
Based on your simple logic, I take it you think black people aren't successful QBs and head coaches in the NFL?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is pure smoke in hopes of enticing a team who really wants Fournette to come up to #2 to get him. SF needs a ton of help everywhere and Hyde was probably one of the few (somewhat) bright spots on the team.

Garrett is probably the one defensive player someone might want to move to #2 to get, but he will be gone at #1. There are no QB's worth trading to #2 to get. SF's only play to lure someone into a trade is to put out information that they are seriously interested in a RB who some consider the best prospect in a generation.
SF could probably fetch a pretty good haul in return for the #2 pick.

I'd be shocked if Fournette goes to SF. I do think, however, that Carolina desperately wants him
