I read somewhere that he was fired because he couldn't teach their offense to tackle good enough.

I am cautiously pessimistic.
The season for the defense was atrocious. But what went on behind the scenes??
I still don't Spagnola firing? Only one year. A year that had no HC and Vilma gone for half the year. I assumed this season would just be chalked up and everyone got a pass? Must have been a poor meeting?

True enough. IIRC, the Dallas defense ranked pretty high after the first few games of the season. How good he can be remains a mystery, imo.
Saints don't need a top five or even top ten defense to be successful. Case in point: Super Bowl XLIV.

i guess if you google his track record, it's sub-mediocre. That may be the sour feeling. But who knows...the third or fourth NFL job may work out.

This is exactly right. Payton had his play calling duties taken from him by Jim Fassel. Where everyone developed this, I don't want someone who was fired bullshite, I don't know. Newsflash, Romeo Crennel has been fired many, many times. Gregg Williams had been fired. It is football. Almost everyone has been fired.

i say give the guy at least a few games before you start trying to figure out when he is gonna be gone. i know its the offseason, but Damn give the guy a chance....you almost come across as wanting him to fail.
