Driveman's style is offputting, but what he's posted on the Hornets Talk makes it seem pretty likely that he's got a legit source in the Benson camp. I'm not saying he's always right, but he's right enough that you shouldn't just dismiss it because HE TALKS like his CAPS lock is short CIRCUITING!

Surely we can afford the extra 7 to 9 thousand. Our cap situation can't be THAT bad.

He broke the news that Benson would be buying the team and he's also broken news on the rebrand including showing a picture of a variation of the logo several weeks before anyone saw it.

He leaked the Pelicans logo quite a while ago.

This one is bullshite or being misunderstood, though. We may be $7-9m off from what he wants, but SF certainly is as well. If SF were offering that much more than us, he would be a 9er right now.

This is true and I hate it. I really WISH I could just IGNORE this APPARENT buffoonery BUT sometimes it SEEMS TO BE more than just THAT.

Hey brothers just got off the phone with the drivesource. He tells me we're about 7-9M OFF Nnamdis price TAG. It looks like we're only offering him a 1-2 year deal that helps us with the transition of the new D and helps him by OFFERING FA next year if he re-establishes himself. But he will probably OPT to go with the longer term deal as well as play with a title contender in the BAY area. DRIVEMAN OUT
No way in hell there is that much of a difference unless you are talking token money at the end of a long term deal to make it look good (i.e. never attainable). Otherwise, a deal would have been done already.

Was just coming to post this.

Unfortunately, Driveman does have a legit source. He's probably the only legit, proven insider on this entire site, outside of belowpar. He's probably posted more legit stuff than belowpar, to be honest.

It sucks though, as he's such a douche. But he's the real deal so far.

Yeah, as someone else mentioned I'd think the actual guaranteed money has to be pretty close just because of the cap situation. I can see the Saints offering something like 2/$9 and San Fran is offering 4/$17 with the guaranteed money being fairly close.

I imagine the "drivesource" being a coonass sitting on his porch in the middle of a swamp drinking a natty light with a pack of coon hounds running around. And a pregnant wife smoking marlboro light 100 sitting on the couch inside.

eta: peazey out.

I know this has probably been discussed before, but is DRIVEMAN the old TRUCKMAN from SR?

Haha, I remember that guy, but I don't think it is. As others have said, the DRIVEMAN has been right in the past, where as the TRUCKMAN was never right.

No, Truckman was right once in a blue moon. He was very inconsistent though (probably went too far on a limb with Haynesworth). Seems coincidental that he uses "Driveman" moniker and is somewhat inconsistent on his info.

False. He made VERY vague comments one time that turned out to be "right", he then ran with it.

There was an epic thread over there on their BTL board that proved him to be a fraud, with literally hundreds of his quotes and predictions that were not only completely and utterly wrong, but so vague that it was completely clear that he was a fraud.

Driveman is the real deal though.

I don't mind the Driveman. I love the pageantry.
