"We had a guy, Bivian Lee, and he was from Prairie View," Manning recalled. "We lost Bivian years ago, but he called himself 'B-Lee from P.V.' and was a great guy, a cornerback and punt returner.

quote:

"Anyway, after the game, they're asking him about (the stadium), because I think he had a little trouble with a punt, and they ask him about the lights, and he said, 'Yeah, it was kind of an adjustment. Fielding punts and looking up at those lights could be a little problem, and I need to get used to it,' " Manning continued. "And then he said, 'Of course, when the season starts, it won't be a problem because we play at noon.'

They were up for it, the fans were up for it, and it was electric."

Do ya'll really buy into that? I mean, you could have said the same exact thing about the Divisional playoff game v's Philadelphia that same year and the NFC Championship game v's the Vikings in January 2010. Before the games I'm sure it seemed impossible that we were going to lose, but both of those games were very tenuous in the late stages - we probably should have lost to the Vikings if you're being completely objective.

Another game that I'm sure felt like this pregame was the first ever Saints playoff game v's Minnesota that we got trounced in - we were the better team on paper with the better record and you know the city and the Dome were electric pregame. I remember the news reports of Saints fans camping out to buy the first ever playoff tickets.

Were you at any of these games? If you were you'd know that the reopening of the Dome against the Falcons was the single most emotional event ever held in that building and it started hours before kickoff outside of the Dome.

Agreed, there was absolutely 0 chance of us losing the first game back. When Gleason blocked the punt I thought the Dome was going to collapse it was so loud.
