Bushrod told the #Saints he wanted a contract larger than that of Jahri Evans
McKinnie is a solid option but I saw somewhere he's not giving discounts either.
No major surprise here, but soon-to-be unrestricted free agents tackle Jermon Bushrod and quarterback Chase Daniel have received the most chatter Tuesday morning with some interesting dollar amounts being tossed around through the media.
In another non-surprise, Bushrod is being connected to the Bears once free agency opens this afternoon. What was a surprise was that Bushrod reportedly is asking for Jahri Evans-type money. Evans signed a seven-year deal in 2010 which could max out around $57 million. Bushrod quickly denied the report via Twitter.
CBSSports.com is reporting Daniel may end up making $3 million per season on his next contract. Daniel made $1 million last season, and could be leaving New Orleans to fight for a starting job elsewhere.
Free agent LT Jermon Bushrod is shooting down rumors that he's seeking "Jahri Evans money."
He better, because he won't get it. Part of a somewhat soft offensive tackle market, Bushrod is unlikely to approach the seven-year, $56.7 million contract teammate Evans received in New Orleans. Bushrod turns 29 before the season. We'd anticipate something more along the lines of $30 million across five years
