Atlanta seems to be a shoe-in for 2019 with the billion dollar stadium. Miami is also making major improvements to Sun Life Stadium.

New Orleans will be competing with Tampa, Miami and Atlanta to host the two Super Bowls. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is building a new stadium and has made it known he desires to host the Super Bowl in 2019 and history has shown NFL owners tend to reward cities and teams that build new stadiums.

New Orleans officials are hopeful that the more than $30 million in upgrades to the Superdome slated for the next two years will help its bid for one of the two available Super Bowl years. The Superdome is having larger, state-of-the-art video boards installed and an HD room is currently under construction for much clearer video production.

With Grayson at the helm.

It would be awesome to watch Mecha-Brees raise the Lombardi inside the Superdome after the 2020 superbowl.

Would we lose a home game to London the following year?
If so, I do not want another Superbowl in the dome again.

What if it's a home Thursday game. They can take that crap away every year.
And the superbowl is pretty big for the city and state. I hope we get many more, regardless of the London BS

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we won't get either one.
2019-ATL because it is the 1st year their new stadium is eligible
2020-MIA because they just dropped a freak ton to renovate the stadium

It's not just for those reasons. N.O. is at a big disadvantage these days on bidding for major sporting events due to other states being willing and able to throw a ton of $$$ in to help their cities win these kind of bids.
Anyone in the industry will tell you that N.O. is one of the best, if not the best, at putting on major events because of the layout of the city which greatly enhances logistics and the people/hospitality is outstanding.

I was gonna say, count 1 of those years out because Atlanta IS getting either 2019 or 2020.
I don't really know too much about Miami's renovations though so NO may get the other?

It is a pretty big renovation ($350 millin) and is adding a roof to cover most of the seats. That was the NFL's biggest want. They rewarded us right after we did the lower bowl renovation and I think they will reward Miami for doing this. Especially since it is all paid for by the owner. LINK
NOLA and Miami are the top 2 SB host cities and I thinkg the $350 million give Miami the edge. I think we have a good shot at 2021 unless LA's new stadium is open.

Sun Life Stadium renovations
It will practically be a new stadium, so there bid might be tough to pass on.
I could be wrong, but I heard that NOLA was just new video boards and a few updates away from getting the 2018 SB. We put together a very good bid, so who knows what our chances are in 2020. We have a year until we bid for these.

Benson's donation to the HOF has to help
Going to be tough with all the money going into Atlanta and Miami's stadiums

Atlanta will be 2019.

I just looked at the video for Atlanta's new stadium. That retractable roof reminds me of the sphincter of a giant a-hole, which is appropriate based on the fact it is in Atlanta. There is also a "Champion's Lounge", do you think that is just for visiting fans?

There's no way we beat out Atlanta for 2019.
Clearly the NFL puts the SB in new stadiums.
If we lost out to a crappy place like Minneapolis (when we were the favorite), we have no chance against Atlanta.
I wonder if there will be a place with a new stadium for 2020? Maybe London?

Its funny that the NFL makes such a big deal about having a new stadium to host the super bowl, when actually the biggest event is the week leading up to the super bowl. This is just a ploy by the NFL to get teams to dump money in to their stadiums.
If you take away the whole "build a new stadium get a super bowl" aspect of it, I bet stadium is no higher than 5th on the list things the NFL looks at for a host city.
