"All of those screens and crossing patterns the Pats use will be perfect for him. He's going to be taking 10 yard passes for 60 to the house week in week out."

"Cooks could put up 1800 yards and 15 TDs"

They're in for a real surprise!

More like run out of bounds or fall down after 10 yards.

He definitely looks like a typical ne reciever, but I'm not sure he's tough enough to grind underneath the way Edelman and Amendola do.

We shall see. The pats usually get it right.

Goes from a 4.3 to a 4.2 when he's a racing a safety to the sideline

It's not like Cooks was getting the ball from some scrub in an offense that squanders talent. He was in a system that has been one of the most prolific offenses in NFL history with another one of the greatest QBs to ever play.

If he has an open lane he can, but he sure as hell ain't breaking tackles to do it.

He'll put up around 1300 and 10. He's going to play with Tom Brady, in an offense that seems to know how to get guys open. Cooks will likely flourish in New England.

So you think he'll get more yards in an offense that doesn't throw for as many yards? I mean...maybe. I don't think so though.

"Glad we got the speedy little guy but he does seem a bit soft heading out of bounds and going down when touched."

"Our front office got Belichicked from the Saints!"

"I hope Bill still has the magic touch with grumbling diva wideouts."

"He has put up numbers but Brees does that for everyone. We have enough little guys already. He'll do fine but they overspent for a two year rental."

maybe this was by design, payton and the pats doing a big FU to cooks by keeping him under his present contract and sending him over the middle to get clocked on crossing routes getting his bell rung.

that's way too deep to be true but if they want cooks to be the over the middle catching balls in traffic getting laid out by the safeties after the catch, then he will disappear so fast on IR they will forget he is even on the team lol

They do tend to have better blocking outside so it wouldn't surprise me. Add the fact he's also young, you guys act as if he hasn't improved his skills over the course of the last 3 years either.

I don't think the Pats got cooks to do the things in the OP

They need a field stretcher

You're aware Marvin Harrison made HOF doing exactly this right?

Those guys are way better after the catch than Cooks. They're also way better at actually making catches.

Cooks has gamebreaking speed, and he is a great route runner with soft hands, but he is not physical, he can't win in tight coverage, and he doesn't really have "oomph" once he has the ball unless he just has a straight-up stride advantage on guys. Of course he's still a really good receiver and NE will find ways to use him, but he isn't going to suddenly be an all-pro. I expect he will be used more to open things up for other guys.

Yea they're about to be pretty disappointed if they think he can do that.

This is why rational talks can't be had here. Watch more than 1 game a week to allow yourself perspective.

Between Gronk, Dwayne Allen, Edelman, Amendola, Hogan, Mitchell, and White I give even odds that his numbers will diminish there.
