Why not take the cap hit of $7 million and have $20 million to use elsewhere.

Why not extend him, have the extra space to use elsewhere, while not having to replace the most important position in football?

This team at best is 2 good drafts away from being playoff worthy.

This is the NFL and that is a ridiculous comment. Rebuilding should not take 3+ seasons.

How am I changing my tune? You really think he's still at HOF level? I think his best days are way over and it will only help to start prepping for the future asap.

By playing the qb lottery that most teams lose. That's brilliant

So at what salary do you resign or restructure him? Take the hit and move on. The Saints are no where near playoff contention with Brees at any salary, sorry.

You truly believe that? And did you see any evidence of that level this year?

I merely gave an opinion, right or wrong I ll stick to it. Brees will not be anywhere near 100% and he shouldn't be playing if he's not. Can he honestly do any better than Luke did?

10th most yards in a season
9th best completion % in a season

Yea, easily. Especially with our oline.

After 1 healthy game? Didn't see anything to suggest some dramatic fall

That's the definition of an idiot.

So I'm an idiot because I don't agree with your narrow mindedness. I want what's best for my team and playing a 60-75% Brees on a lack of talent team ain't the answer.

That isn't what I said, but reading is hard.

If you're going to stick by your opinion, right or wrong, then that is being narrow minded

I dont think anyone is saying to play a 60% Brees. We're talking about his future anyways. I guess if you can't dispute an argument, creating a new one is the next best thing

You just said you wouldn't want Drew back for any salary.

You realize how ridiculous that is?

Teams have won SB's with Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, and Jim McMahon...

Drew is still a Top 10 QB and you can win it all with that. You do not cut/trade him early nor do you show him the door this year.

He is under contract for a very fair amount compared to other vets. Going rates

This team is not nearly as bad as some people are making it out to be. We have enough pieces in place to make a playoff run next season if we nail our offseason.

The season at 0-3 is over. The rebuilding and the shakeups on airline drive needs to commence . The window with Drew Brees has closed.

Start young and hopefully hit with the upcoming drafts. Rebuilding a championship caliber team : 4-6 years.

Did he or did he not throw a 55 yard pass on the money during that pre season game?

You dumb fricks don't realize that injuring his arm caused his strength to go down.

Drew brees is going to play on Sunday and he and the Saints will go Ape shite crazy on Dallas.

Defensive starters will come back next week and we will be 1 game behind the division lead after another win and division foe losses (and the game after that is VS Atlanta)

All of you post 2006 negasaints who are saying to trade Brees will line up to get on your knees and suck off Drew.

End thread

I'd rather just move forward with Luke McCown for the rest of this season. Maybe also get Grayson some PT, then deal with the Brees issue after the season.

does anyone think there is any trade value there for Brees?
