For some reason there are threads asking which has a better fan base and many actually answer LSU. Well, if the Saints were in the running for a playoff spot or NFC South championship and playing Detroit or Oakland on Halloween night, it would be overflowing. LSU fans can't give away tickets for the Tulane game.

once again. Let the Saints have as much success in the next 7 years like LSU has and get back to me. LSU fans have become spoiled by the recent success. You had a better fan base in 02? LSU

What does that mean? You have success and you stop going to the games?

They'll spin it in a multitude of ways.

I can remember games in South La being blacked out b/c the Saints couldn't sell out the dome. I went to the saints games when they played 70 miles down the road in Tiger stadium and the place wasn't half full. The saints have had a faithful following, but LSU always had and always will outdraw the saints.

this is just a terrible analogy.....the NFL is a different beast. Its a litle different when you you are playing a team that you know you will beat. there is never a sure thing in the NFL...and every team has stars........

Well Saints have always been 1 and LSU always 2 in my book, so even though I'm going to the game tomorrow, if both were playing and I had tickets to both, the Saints would be getting my attendance.

I have watched them both all of my life and have been fans of both since I was born in New Orleans. However I would not trade one for the other, I am LSU all the way.
I have seen the good and bad of both in 36 years

There are multiple problems with this statement:

First off the gap between the Saints and Oakland/Detroit is much, much, much closer than the talent gap between LSU and Tulane. That is just the way it is in CFB. Ever game for the Saints counts.

Next. NFL divisions are decided based on overall record. The SEC west is decided on conference record only. so Tulane doesn't count toward the division title. A loss to Tulane would kill the slim hopes of a NC, but a loss to Tulane is highly unlikely.

The Superdome has 20,000 FEWER seats than Tiger Stadium. The NFL is also far more popular than CFB.

really? i had a hard time giving away my tickets to the Carolina game on new years eve in 2006. last game of the year, katrina comeback year, and saints were a playoff team. Nobody wanted them.

but, the number one reason that you can still see that saints fans aren't better are the insecure, pathetic little threads like these. These threads make saints fans look petty, and it screams "little brother syndrome". You are making it worse.

I'm a true and faithful member of both equally. I'm sure there are a lot more like me

there are.

which is another reason why arguments/threads like these are so stupid. It's like now that the saints are finally having a good run, some saintards are losing their mind and almost wanting people to pick LSU OR the Saints, not support both. It's very insecure and myopic.

tickets are A LOT easier to come by than what you think

The Saints/Panthers game was meaningless. The Saints had secured a playoff spot and Drew Brees and most of the starters didn’t even play. If LSU falls to Tulane tonight that shuts the door on any hope for a National Championship run. So you would think this game is some what important.

no argument here....but at least they don't spent this amount of time crying about LSU fans. Why? b/c they worry about their team, or their rivals....not a pissing contest that doesn't matter.
