With the cutting of jhari, does vadal alexander make it to second round? Run blocking guard could really help. Yes I know he played for LSU. I would rather one of the Bama DL of knemdiche (sp?) Just never thought his production was as big as the hype

I wouldn't mind Vadal in the 2nd, but I think waiting to go guard in the 3rd is the smart move, b/c Front 7 is such a huge need. Don't be surprised if Vadal doesn't make it to our 2nd round pick though...he's the 2nd ranked guard in the draft(behind the guy from Kstate) & he can also play right tackle. He'll be on a lot of draft boards.

I figured he would be late 1st early 2nd round pick but didn't know if he had moved up or down lately

We need front 7 on D worse than anything.

No Jack for me though. The guys not a pass rusher. He's a fast WIL.

We need pash rushers and big bodies.

Hell, I wouldn't be disappointed if the drafted 2 DTs in a row.

Give me any combination of the Bama DTs, the Clemson DEs, kid from LA Tech, etc.

Big bodies on D. That's what we need.

*check out our Dline depth chart right now. It's pathetic.

I think guard will be addressed in FA. No way we just go into the draft with our fingers crossed we get one. We'll bring in a vet.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see us take a TE in the mid rounds. Arkansas guy falls in the 3rd range Id imagine.

I'd be happy with Treadwell, Doctson, Bosa, Lawson, Reed and Jack. Is that too much to ask?

has to be front 7 in the 1st two rounds. Have the chance this year to get real talent in those spots. Combine that with 2 starting linebackers drafted last year and cam, there's a chance of significant improvement on D in 1 year.

Why would you just not take the best defensive player on the board at that time? also, if Treadwell is there do we pass on him?

No De'Runnya Wilson?

And Nkemdiche over both the Bama guys?

I would. Treadwell gets this team from 7-9 to maybe 8-8. Offense has never been, nor will ever be (as long as Brees is QB) this team's biggest problem. If they don't get better on D defense they've got no chance. None.

The Panthers went 15-1 and won the NFC with Ted Fricken Ginn as their best WR. The Broncos are the world champs after playing a large part of the season with a back up QB and a HOFer who was a complete shell of his former great self. Why? Both teams had great defenses. Especially along the DL

Everyone pissed all over themselves when the Saints moved up to take Cooks two years ago. While he's been a fine player, the Saints have gone 7-9 in the first two years of his career. You can win big with a great QB and avg. receivers. You can't with a horrible defense.

Last year was a good start, but it's time to continue to build the front 7

We lack playmakers on offense. Our stats look good on paper at the end of the day, but watching the games its pretty clear we're not as efficient as we once were. We've ignored the WR position for far too long.

The defense give up like 30 points per game last year. There were only 2 offenses in the NFL who averaged more than that. No matter how good the offense is you still need to have same sort of defense to be successful and this team doesn't even have that.

Ignored it for too long? They just drafted a WR in the first round two years ago. The best season in franchise history was a team with a 7th rounder as its best WR. The only 1st round WR of the bunch (Mechem) was arguably the worst WR of the group. The Saints offense has been among the best in the league for 10 years. Throughout that time they've never had a marquee WR. They've won big over the years with avg. WRs. Why do they all of a sudden "need" one when the other side of the ball is absolutely horrible?

Yet they were still in the top 10 in scoring offense. That's more than adequate to be a playoff team if the Saints had any semblance of a defense. In fact, every other team except one that joined the Saints in the top 10 made the playoffs. The other top 10 offensive team that missed the playoffs along with the Saints? The NY Giants. The only team with arguably a worse defense than the Saints. Taking a WR in the first round over any good front 7 defensive player or even an offensive lineman would be completely asinine and wouldn't bring the Saints any closer to being a championship level team.
