Would he be worth a 3rd round pick? Butt was projected by many to be a first round pick prior to their Orange Bowl game the other night. Butt tore his ACL and will require surgery. His injury is likely to drop him down on many draft boards.

He will likely miss the entire 2017 season, but could be one heck of a steal going forward.

I think it depends on how strong the roster is after FA. There are A LOT of holes to fill to bring this roster back to contention.
We need at least one G, a pass rusher, at least one impact LB, a corner, and possibly a safety depending on what happens with Byrd.

While Byrd was better this season.....the production DOES NOT equal his contract.
I think Bell has some talent, but he looked completely lost fairly often. Some of that should correct itself with experience (hopefully), but I do have concerns

I really don't wanna have to root for a guy with the last name, Butt.

When can we reasonably get rid of Fleener?

If we have filled up a large amount of our holes in free agency, and it looks like we have had 3 great picks with our 1st-3rd rounders, I wouldn't be against getting him in the 4th round at all.

We can score. We need to stop others from doing so.

Main problem is that we have Fleener, Hill and Hooman already locked up multi-year and they are a solid TE depth chart if Drew and Coby can just get on the same page.

Hooman would cost 600k to cut while saving $1.2m. not really a hindrance

You're an LSU fan, correct? We used to root for a guy with the last name Booty.

I'd take him in sixth still think you should be looking for a defensive guy in the fifth round or and o line guy. But if somehow there in the sixth u jump on it cause fleener is not the answer. Although it would be a luxury to have right now we need a te as a second option if Thomas is hurt or we can't get it too him in the red zone. FLEENER IS NOT THE ANSWER. Guy doesn't even look like he likes football been saying since before we signed him.

these should be reasons to look for a new TE

Yada yada score points already.. whatever. Good teams draft a guy like Butt at a value, so it certainly won't be us.

Holes all over the defense and offesnive line. Would definitely be a smart move to draft a tight end with a torn acl with a 3rd rounder.

The Saints aren't in a place where they can take a player to stash for the future. They need to win now.

A shame because you know the Patriots are going to draft him with like a 3rd or 4th and he will go on to be Gronk 2.0

I was high on jake last season, yet he stayed for his Senior year. The guy is good. Sad to hear in his final collegiate game he tears his ACL. We need him. Great Run blocker, great pass catcher. Steal in the 3rd-4th round.

Fumagalli from Wisky is intriguing. Not sure where he'll be drafted?
