I have to admit he has progressed faster than I expected.
Also if you click on the link there is a another link to a quick read on Sheldon Rankins.

He has looked great. What a trio we will have when Snead is 100% (not sure he is)

How fortunate to be a young w.r. and be able to work in this type of an offense and have a Drew Brees to throw your way. Also to be around the work ethic that
Brees and Cooks bring to the table.

Hes competing for most productive rookie wr depending on what stats are the most important to you.

This fo seemingly hit on a wr in the draft, everyone take that in for a sec.

Lets see if he can actually earn that Colston 2.0 label. Colston was so underrated. He consistently made acrobatic catches in traffic. I wanna see that from cantguardmike13

Yeah I kept vouching for him. Even said I think he's our pick in the 2nd. And I was right.

I remember a lot of people thinking he'd be our 2nd round pick. One of the few times I think fans correctly picked who we'd select.

Got it. Thank you. Strange the success the front office has had evaluating w.r.'s through free agency and the draft yet failure through all other positions in recent years. Could be with a Q.B. like Brees and this style offense almost any receiver with some talent can excel.

Reminds me of past drafts where other later round picks outproduced the Saints' top pick:

Thomas over Rankins
PJ Williams/Kikaha over Peat
Armstead over Vaccarro
Jimmy G over P-Rob
Morestead over M Jenkins
Bushrod over Meachem
C Nicks over S Ellis
Colston/Evans over Bush

Seems only Cam Jordan, Hicks, and Cooks outproduced their respective draft classes in the SP/Loomis era.

I'm honestly not so sure this has happened.

Peat is starting to seem like a good pick to me

Armstead is elite but Vaccaro looks pretty good

Mike Thomas has been fantastic, hopefully Rankins will be as well.

We drafted Cooks
I know it's early but I think Cooks and Thomas will have multiple pro bowls in their futures.

Rankins and Thomas were my predicted picks this year. The last 1st Rder I predicted correctly was Jordan. I'm not boasting but thinking we might continue to see better drafts with more consensus rather than head scratching picks. I'm all for wanting Peat to turn into an All Pro. I thought Shane Ray or Bud Dupree were the choices there. Not so great either. But if they were pushing more for need maybe so. Draft hindsight is is always 20/20 but still... just a couple picks later came two shutdown corners- Kevin Johnson and Marcus Peters.

He's arguably the best value we've gotten in the draft since armstead.

I thought that if he made the regular rotation by next year then still a good choice so I'm good with it.
I really like his attitude. Apparently Drew and CSP had a high opinion of him early on.LINK
