Don't read too much into silence on Butler front. Focused on Saints. Parameters of deal mostly in place. Some quibbling over guaranteed $$$

As for compensation for Butler, can't be discussed until he signs tender but both sides know what it will take to get deal done...

Sense i get is there's a bit of a game of high stakes chicken on compensation front, but Saints enamored with player

Michael Giardi tweet

Sounds like a deal will get done soon. I just wonder what kind of $$$ we are talking.

No I am not worried about that. I hope we don't give up 32.

The won't. The players that may be worth the 11 are not on the trading block. Those guys don't hit the street.

Well give back 32 and sign him to 12 mil a year and it will be great. If we only give back 42 it will be even better.

They may not get 11 but the Saints are going to give up something big for Butler

My opinion is that the Pats want 32 and a mid-late round next year. The Saints probably want to give a 2 and a 3, maybe some combo of this year and next. The Pats don't currently have a 1, 2, or 3 for this years draft. They may hold out for that 32.

I'd be ok with a 2nd & 3rd, but 1 in 2017 & 1 in 2018. We need 4 picks this year in the top 3 rounds imo.

Stop being such a bitch

I don't want to give up the 11th pick, but butler is a proven commodity who will be better out the gates than anyone we could get at that draft slot anyway

ETA - not giving up the 11th pick so it don't matter

Those dumasses are going to give away the #11 pick for Butler and throw away a chance at a difference maker opposite CamJ, Then scratch their heads when Butler turns into Jason David because of no pass rush.

42 this year, 2018 3rd.

If the Pats want more, tell them no thanks. No way in hell 32 is on the table unless they give something else up with Butler. The 5th year team option that comes with 32 is too valuable IMO.

The Pats are going to get a 3rd anyway for Butler as a comp when they let him go, so why not get a 2nd rounder out of the deal.
