Yeah, I know, Kiper... Still good to see our guys recognized.

6. Hau'oli Kikaha, DE/OLB, New Orleans Saints Not only is Kikaha getting to the quarterback, he's doing a good job against the run. He's not an explosive player in a quick-twitch sense, but he has good instincts and it speeds him up. The Saints have to be thrilled with him so far.

8. Stephone Anthony, ILB, New Orleans Saints Asked to be a starter right out of the gate -- which was the plan when they selected him -- Anthony has lived up to the draft slot. He reads the game well and is also getting into the backfield to make plays.

They're both already some our best defenders 4 games into their rookie careers. I'm super stoked about these guys. Also, I know everyone is slamming the Peat decision around here, but it's going to look like a great idea when he's the starting RT by the end of the season bc of how badly Strief is declining.

I think draft class could rival or maybe even pan out better than our 06 one with how many guys we have as immediate contributors.

This FO doesn't do mixed-bag drafts.

Agreed. Let's just hope none of these guys experience the infamous post-rookie season regression that some others have.

True. We haven't even brought PJ Williams and Grayson into the conversation yet.

Didn't Bill Parcells recommend him to CSP?

I have no idea. But this is the first draft he oversees as head of college scouting. He's done well so far.

Vaccaro was never as impressive as Kikaha has been

blasphemy

Vaccaro made the game winning play in his first ever game and was being talked about as the next best safety in the NFL.

And when Tull takes the other OLB position next season it will make this draft one of the most solid drafts for the Payton/Loomis era.

Yeah that's just not true. Kenny was great as a rookie. He made plays all over the field and I believe he was one of the surest tacklers in the league. There's a reason that when we signed Byrd some experts were saying we might have the 2nd best safety duo. His 2nd year was bad and his 3rd has just been ok so far but that 1st year he looked special.

I thought that dude would be all pro by now. Vaccarro! As a rook he was tenacious and a physical nightmare. What happened to that player?? A lot of people on here was sayin LSU's Reid wasn't in his league which I called bullshite on. As you see I'm right now. But I hope Vaccarro comes around.

I thought Vaccaro was like a bullet shot from a gun that year.

Someone got to him last year about not killing your self or career before the big payday. Hell much of the team seemed to play that way in 2014. Glad to see him approaching the effort from rookie year.

Well...I think it's pretty simply actually. Ryan used him as a chess piece all over the field in 2013. We had Harper down in the box and Jenkins playing coverage most of the time so he didn't have as much responsibility. He could play nickel, blitz, drop back in coverage, hell he even played some linebacker.
When we shipped off Jenkins and Harper he couldn't do that anymore and had to play more traditional safety roles with much more responsibility.

I said this in another thread...I mean that'd be awesome if he did. But a guy missing his whole rookie season coming back and taking a starting spot seems like a longshot. But it could certainly happen.
